The Saboteur Notes

I Choose to play on hard.
I am asked to enter a code from my game box which entitles me to download the midnight show, which is a piece of DLC that adds nudity and gambling.
Have to sign up for an EA marketing account, which I will probably regret when they spam me to death.

Tone is set as the first thing we see is a girl in panties and stockings and heel and nothing else dancing in a club.
Nazi's are drinking and abusing the place.
The hero of the piece is sitting at a bar drowning his sorrows looking at a black and white picture. A french man comes up to him and asks to join him. The hero tells him to get lost. The frenchman tells the hero that he has been watching him and tries to goad him into helping fight the Nazi's. The frenchman tells our hero to come outside when he is ready to fight.

We are to head to a waypoint marker. Usual anaologue stick controls, third person view.
Y opens the door at the waypoint.
Now after a short load we are out on the street outside the club. We have to renevous with Luc, who is I presume the frenchman.

Mission 1
Luc wants us to help him blow up a petrol depot.
We have to get into a car.
Y to get into the car, Right trigger to accelerate, left trigger to brake, A for handbrake.
A short drive through the black and white city. We find Nazi's beating on an old woman and Luc gets out and starts a fight.
Holding down Left trigger on foot puts us into brawl mode.
X to hard punch, A for quick jab, B to kick.
We have to fight a few Nazi's then onto another waypoint.
Here we find a guarded gated area where there is some weapons to steal.
I am told to climb up to a rooftop lookout post and throw the guard off the roof.
We can clamber up the side of the building in an Assassins Creed/Crackdown style.
On the roof I grab the guard and thow him off using left trigger and Y. I then have to go down and help Luc fight more soldiers. We then break some crates and get the dynamite.
Now I have to go back to the car.
A short drive gets us to the fuel depot.
We are told that a distraction is needed so we can sneak into the depot and place a charge on the main tank.
Luc will blow up a truck and we must climb the nearby building and shimmy along telegraph wires into the depot.
As I get to the top of the roof A cut scene shows LUc blowing up the truck. I then jump and grab the wire and slide into the base, planting the explosives using the Dpad to select them and pressing Y.
The base blows and we see the black and white of the area leave as the Nazi control of the area is weakened.
Now I have to escape the depot.
I find this hard on foot and die quickly.
I see a vehicle and use it to esacpe with ease.
Once I have escaped the usual line of sight type sandbox chase I am told to go back and pick up Luc, then drive back to the Belle which is the name of the club we stared in.
Sean, our hero has a room hidden behind a secret door in the girls dressing room.
The mission ends there.

Mission 2 Prologue, better days
A cut scene shows Sean working on a racing car, a french man that Sean calls brother, I am presuming brother in law comes up to him and joshes with him. A woman called Angelique appears and takes the picture we saw Sean staring at in the bar. A father appears and urges them to prepare the car for transport to a race. Seems that Sean is driving it in a race and Jules is his mechanic.
We have to drive the truck through countryside to the German border and pass into Germany for the race.
Parking the truck we are guided to a bar.
Inside the gang celebrate and get ready to turn in for the night so they can be fresh for the race tomorrow. A german race driver arrives and goads the gang until a fight breaks out.
After fighting all the nazi's in the bar we are told to run as the bar owner has called the police.
Outside a cut scene shows the Nazi's catching up to Jules and Sean, However a woman named Skylar turns up in a racing car and we get in and have to escape the alert.
Two nazi cars seem to be able to match my pace and I have to make the a.i. crash by going through some trees to get any distance from them.
Once lost we drop Jules at the hotel and get a cut scene of Sean and Skylar chatting in bed. Seems they are old flames. Skylar it seems is the rich english duchess type, moulded after Lara Croft.

Mission 3 Sunday drive.
We see Sean the next morning, Skylar was gone when he woke.
We have to take Jules to the track, this is a short drive.
A cut scene shows the race starting.
We now have to participate in the race, as soon as we overtake the german in first place he shoots out out tire. Sean is annoyed as they watch Dierker take to podium.
Sean swears to get him back.
We have to tail Direker out to a car factory, where Jules suggests that they are making more than cars.
We stash the car and have to approach the factory on foot.
We take Dierkers parked car and drive it off a cliff. However we are caught doing this and taken to Dierker.
Jules is tortured by Dierker, Sean is asked to divulge his operation to Dierker, who it seems thinks he is a British agent.
Dierker shoots Jules when Sean doesn't give him what he wants. Sean escapes his bonds in rage and punches Dierker.  Sean is restrained again and Dierker leaves to tend his broken nose. Sean then escapes his guards and we are free inside the Nazi base.
Out in the corriodors of the base we are tasked with stealth killing nazis. Holding left bumper and pressing X breaks the neck of the enemy, Y beats the back of their head in.
We now have a balcony with a huge symbol on it. We have to kill a guard, climb up the symbol and get another guard at the top.
Now we climb down a ladder and into the base proper, a fight breaks out and we find some good guns at last.
We overhear Franziska and Eckhardt talking about the invasion. Fighting our way out into the front of the base we get a vehicle and escape the base. Now we have to get out of germany. Into france we find the invasion has begun and nazi troops are everywhere blowing up everything.
At the farm we find Vittore and Veronique being attacked and we have to storm the burning farm to rescue them both.
In cut scene Veoronique is upset with Sean for taking Jules to the base and blames him.
They all escape to paris and we see them arrive at the belle and explain to Jules' mother about his death. Sean swears vengence on Dierker.

Misson 4
We have to walk through the belle to meet Luc upstairs.
In the downstairs cellars we find a secret club under  the main one, this one for the reistance only.
I eventually find Luc. It seems that in anger for the fuel depot explosion the nazis have been taking prisoners of known rebels. Veronique tells us that Vittore has been taken to a slaughterhouse.
We are told about the suspicion meter and the visibiltiy icon. The amount of trouble we cause will raise the meter if we can be seen by a nazi the exclamation point appears on the radar.
If the suspicion meter fills a nazi will blow his whistle and we will be on alert and have to escape.
We have to drive Luc to a waypoint.
Here Luc informs us that the resistance have been providing co-ordinates of german installations to the British air force. Bombers are due to level the place tonight.
Luc tells us to kill a nearby sentry and take his uniform, we have to punch or stealth kill him as shooting him ruins the disguise.
Once we have a uniform we can enter restricted areas, though if we run, jump or plant bombs we will be challenged.
I get the guard and the uniform, then enter the area. The guards all glow red when they are attacking you, now with the uniform  on they glow blue.
Getting too close builds the suspicion meter, so does running. We have to walk slowly and pick our way through the guards. Inside I am caught, but shooting a few nazi's and turning off the alarm is the only penalty.
I find Vittore in a cell and get him out. We are told by a wounded Luc that the bombers are coming and we will have to hide in the cellars. I go to the cellar and we see a cut scene of the bombers hitting the location.

Mission 5
now we are in the reistance headquarters. Luc is shot, and needs some anti-biotics.
We have to procure them from a black market man.
Santos the black marketeer wants us to collect a bottle of champagne for him, this will be used to barter for the medicine.
I go to the location marker and find a party going on. The bottle of champagne is sitting there for me to take. I try and sneak in over the roofs and get it stealthily, however, I am useless and end up just shooting everyone. I take the bottle and am directed to a green waypoint which is a hiding place. Getting into this while not in line of sight of an enemy loses them.
Now it's back to Santos.
Who gives us the meds in return for the champagne. We now have to take the meds to Veronique, who is rude about us getting Jules killed again.

Now there are mission markers on the map. Lu for Luc missions and Sa for Santos missions.

Mission 6 Vittore
Seems that there is an informant within the resistance.
We have to find the general that is meeting the informer as Vittore knows there is going to be a meeting later that night.
I tail the general and see him meet the mole. I tail the mole a little and when it's quiet break his neck, mission done.

Mision 7 Santos
santos explains that we can use his shops. We can get credit for items liberated from the Germans.
To be allowed to use the shops we have to do some jobs for Santos, Kill a german general, blow up a tank and blow up a radar antenna.

This was an introductory mission to conntraband. All of these jobs earned us some contraband. Other jobs include blowing up aa guns, searchlights, guard towers, fuel stations and propaganda speakers.
There is also a perk system which sees Sean's abilites being upgraded.
We can also upgrade weapons bought from the shop.

Mission 8 Santos
Santos wants us to steal a car from a German general, seems he bought it from one of Santos' competitors. Santos wants to teach him a lesson, alway buy from Santos, being the lesson.
I find the car in a guarded courtyard with gates. I try sneaking in over the rooftops, but get shot to bits and the car is driven away by a soldier. I decide to forgo the stealth approach. I ram the gate with a stolen car, jump out beside the car I need to steal then drive it away. Ignoring the masses trying to kill me. I then have to escape the wanted rating and drive the car back to Santos.

Mission 9 Luc
luc wants us to break some resistance fighters out of jail for him.
There are four men in cages in a large heacily guarded square.
I free the men under heavy fire one at a time then have to escape a wanted rating.
On  reporting back to Luc we are given the ability to call in resistance fighters to help us fight.

Mission 10 Veronique
Veronique wants us to help her deliver a package.
We have to take her in a car to pick up a package. Then drive her to a spot. She gets out and tells nazi's guarding the door that she is taking a package of wine and cheese to a general and gets let inside.
She comes running  out and tells us to drive. The house explodes, we have to escape the wanted rating.
Then return to Luc where Sean gives him a piece of his mind about letting Veronique do resistance work.

Mission 11 Skylar
Skylar escaped also and meets up with Sean.
Sean accuses Skylar of being a spy, she drugs him.
We meet Bishop, a british spy, who recruits Sean forcibly in return for absolution for his previous crimes. He will also give him Dierker.
The Nazis dug up a box from a crypt, Bishop wants the box.

mission 12 Skylar
We have to sneak  into the crypt looking for the box.
This is a fairly hard sneak mission. I find that I have to storm the building at the end of the long trek through the cemetry. Inside the crypt we have a few men to kill then we see Sean finding the glowing blue box.
Skylar arrives with a truck and we have to get the truck out of the cemetry and to an ambush point.
Here we have to kill so many nazi's to progress.
Then we have to drive the truck back to the Belle.

Mission 13 Skylar
We find Skylar sitting on our bed in the secret room of the Belle.
On talking to her we are tasked with leaving the Belle.
We have to drive to Bishop. Simple, no interference here.
Bishop takes delivery of the artefact, he quizzes Sean as to wether he peaked, Skylar motions for him to say no and Sean denies looking at it.
Bishop is true to his word and tells us that Dierker is in Le Harve just a mile away.

Mission 14 Skylar
We have to go to a location where a stolen truck is being kept by the resistance. I can drive this truck up to the gates. I then use it to ram them. Inside we have to climb around the outside of a tower then down the stairs of it's insides. All the time under fire. We then climb up to the  zeppellin. Inside a cut scene fight with Dierker then we have to clamber around the inside of the exploding zeppelin as Dierker flees.
I chase Dierker to the other end of the zeppelin and he escapes, Shaun has to jump into the sea without a parachute. He survives with minor injuries.

Mission 15 Wilcox
Wilcox is Bishop's assistance. We tell him that Dierker got away.

Mission 16 Veronique
We go to the resistance base and find Veronique, Sean seems to be about to get romantic with Veronique when Luc turns up and is obviously trying hard to get into her pants as well. Looks like the two are now love rivals.

Mission 17 Luc
Another resistance group wants to join the gang, Sean is to go and check them out.

Mission 18 Vittore
We speak to Vittore and he chides us about our vendetta with Dierker.

Mission 19 Santos
Santos can get us travel papers, he wants us to blow up supply trucks which are carrying the germans own supply of booze and cigarettes. If we blow them up the nazi's will have to buy from Santos.
I find the three trucks which are heavily guarded. However there is an emplaced rocket launching gun on the roof nearby. Getting into this makes the mission easy.
Back to santos for our papers.
Only he wants more money, so we have to go around getting contraband.
Here we have to sneak up on nazi property and well sabotage it. Like the title of the game eh! Now back to Santos when we have enough contraband and he gives us the papers.

Mission 20 Margot
The leader of the other resistance group wants us to do some work for them.
We are to retrieve an important member of the resistance from the germans for them.
Which is a total bastard of a mission. The man is inside a heavily fortified area which takes me an age to get in and out of and numerous deaths. Then we I do get out I lose him on the streets due to a.i. incompetence and have to restart the mission.
I manage it the next time I try fairly well. I learn how to use the resistance getaway car and strike feature which brings in three resistance fighters to help.
This makes it a little easier as the nazi's have more to shoot at than you.
Taking Byrman back to the resistance base finished the mission.

Occasionally NPC's come up to you and pass you notes, such as there is a street race or side mission nearby.

Mission 21 Luc
We find Luc in a square where the Nazi have hung some resistance men they captured.
It seems Dierker is the new chief around these parts. A siege gun is the next target for demolition.

Mission 22 Bryman
Bryman tells us that the siege gun is being targeted on a resistance safe house. We have to hurry and destroy it.
He gives us a special high explosive for the job.
This is quite a fun romp through a corridor type area of the rooftops to get to the gun before it fires. When I get there I plant the bomb and watch as the gun is blown up.
Now we have to escape the alert as usual.

Mission 23 Bishop
Seems that Jules was killed because he saw too much in the plant. Seems the Nazi's are tinkering with nuclear fission.
Bishop wants us to do a job for him. We have to go and meet Skylar.
Skylar wants us to blow up a bridge to derail a train carrying the nazi's bomb scientist.
Seems the scientist is going to defect and the train wreck will make it look like he died. We have to go to the bridge. We need to plant four charges in the understructure then one on top.
We now have to go back to Skylar then meet up with Wilcox.
We meet Wilcox at the trains station.
We have to get on the train and survive a run along it's rooftops with lots of nazi's.
When we get to another station the nazi's stop the train, we have to get it moving again. Then we have to go to Kesslers carriage. Inside in cut scene a man pretending to be Kessler tries to kill Sean, Sean kills him and finds the real Kessler. We then see a cut scene of the two jumping from the train as it reaches the bridge which blows as the train crosses. We now have to go and meet Skylar.
Seems that their escape route for Kessler has been blown, we now have to stash him in the city. We drive him back to the slaughterhouse base of the resistance.
In the slaughterhouse Luc and Skylar are introduced and she wants his help with British secret agent stuff in return for supplies.

Mission 24 Veronique.
Veronique is jealous of Skylar. She asks him about Kessler and Sean fobs her off.

Mission 25 Luc
Luc wants us to get papers for other resistance members from Santos.

Mission 26 Santos
Santos wants a favour in return for the papers, 500 contraband.
I go and blow up some nazi gear and get the contraband. santos gives us the papers.

Mission 27 Luc
Speaking to Luc we find we have to go and find a rebel leader called Mingo.
We have to take Luc to the meeting.
At the meeting location we are told to go and speak with Mingo and Bonnaire.
The meeting is in the open and pretty soon after it starts the Nazis arrive.
We have to fight our way out and get to the car and escape the alert.
Next we drive to Mingo's secret hideout in the catacombs under Paris.
In the catacombs a cut scene shows Luc talking to the assembled resistance leaders.
He proposes to assassinate Nazi top brass when they turn out of a race the nazi's have organised. Dierker is favourite and Eckhardt one of the brass. Sean is to be the instrument of the assassination by winning the race he will be brought face to face with the brass.
Looks like we have to get a car and enter the race.

Mission 28 Vittore
Vittore tells us about a new car that Eckhardt has in his garage.
Seems it is Sean's old car.
We have to go and steal it from a chateau. Then Vittore will disguise it and we can enter it in the race.
We have to approach the chateau.
Once we get there we have to sneak in.
Blow up an entrance, fight some nazi's in the garage and then steal the Aurora.
We then have to escape the alert in the aurora without getting it blown up.

Mission 29 Bryman
We are going to Gestapo HQ to rescue Kesslers daughter.
We sneak in using a telepgraph wire which is pointed out to us by Bryman.
We find ourselves inside the building and must find our way down to the library.
In the library a secret book opens a hidden door.
Inside the hidden door is cells where Kessler's daughter is.
We find a man and free him then have to blow up a boiler to progress.
Here we meet terror troops.
We then have to chase terror trops through the building who are leaving with Maria.
We meet a few terror troops on a balcony then we meet Maria and  leave in an elevator.
We find ourselves out the back of the hq and a waiting car. I drive back to the slaughterhouse.
In cut scene we see Kessler and Maria reunited, however the fun is short lived as the slaughterhouse comes under attack.

Mission 30
We have to defend the slaughterhouse against attack.
German's marked with red signs above their head must be killed before they plant bombs.
There are emplaced guns you can use.
There are a few waves then we have to blow up a tank.
A cut scene shows Sean and Skylar making a break for it with Kessler while the  rest stay to buy them some time.
We are to take the Kesslers by car to the catacombs base.
When we get there we find that Veronique has been caught by the Nazis.
Sean wants to go and save her, Luc wants to carry on with the mission.

Mission 31 Bryman
Bryman wants us to place wiretaps on the nazi phones during a storm so the tampering will not be detected.
We have to bug 7 phone boxes on the roofs while avoiding the nazi's.

Mission 32 Bryman
Bryman tells us that there is a mole in the resistance.
He also knows where veronique is she is being held in Notre Dam, which has been turned into a prison.
We can't get into the prison as it's very heavily guarded. However Bryman has a plan to get in over the walls.
We are  to go to a zeppelin station and hijack one.
I go to the station which is a heavily fortified little island on the river.
I manage to get to the top and send a signal with Bryman's help that brings a zeppelin in. I get on board it and it taxi's me into the Notre Dam zeppelin platform.
Now we have to stop the public executions which are taking place in the courtyard. Veronique is in the queue for execution. We have to shoot the executioner and then protect Veronique.
Which is a bit of a lie as we just have to go up to her to trigger  the next scene.
Bryman drives a truck into the yard and we get in. sean has to take the gun on the back of the truck. This is a classic on rails section and we get loads of trucks and even planes to shoot at.
Eventually it ends and we split up.
We have to take Veronique back to the catacomb base.

Mission 33
A cut scene shows Luc planning to carry on with his race plan. Sean warns him that a mole may have already told the nazis what he plans.
Luc is determined to carry on as he feels that there will never be a better time to cause as much damage to the nazi top brass as this.
Vittore is to drive instead of Sean.
We see Sean knock out vittore and take his place.
The race starts through the paris streets, Dierker is driving the lead nazi car.
I basically win the race and sean slams the bomb/car into the stand with the brass under the eiffel tower causing a massive explosion.
We now have to escape the nazis.
During the race the Belle has come under attack, we have to get there now.
At the Belle we find the place a smoking ruin and Vittore dies in Sean's arms.
we have to go to the catacombs as Sean thinks that they will hit it next. He wants to warn the resistance.
When we get to the catacombs entrance it has been covered up, Sean asks two resistance men guarding it if there is another way in. There is but the Nazi's have found it.
We now have to fight through the back door into the catacombs and through the bony catacombs themselves.
We eventually meet up with under siege resistance members.
Some tomb raider/uncharted type clambering is needed to get accross to them. We find that Santos is the one who has betrayed us.
we have to repel two waves of terror squad attacks.
Luc is trapped by rubble and the gang have to flee. Sean is asked to shoot him and can't, Veronique does the job.
We escape the catacombs and meet Skylar. She is upset that Kessler has went missing.
Veronique goes to be alone for a while.

Mission 34 Skylar
It seems Kessler is back at work for Eckhardt. This must be stopped.
Skylar flies Veronique and Sean to the factory.
We arrive at a parked plane and must get to the factory.
I drive up to the factory and get inside, we have a long trek through the factory fighting terror troops all the way.
Eventually we come to the room where Dierker killed Jules. Inside we find Maria and Sean tells veronique to get her out of the factory and back to the airstrip.
Sean goes on alone to get Kessler.
We find Kessler and he tells us that we must destory the cyclotron.
We have to protect Kessler while he opens the door.
We then have to press a lever simultaneously with Kessler to open up the cooling rods of the huge machine. Once these have been shot we turn our attention to the core of the machine and then have to escape through the burning building.
Outside we see the whole place go up.

Skylar flies us back to Paris and we find that Dierker survived the blast at the eiffel tower and have been going mental since. Sean sets out to kill him.

Mission 35
I drive into Paris and find that there is open fighting in every street between resistance and nazis.
I ahve to drive to the eiffel tower.
Once there in cut scene Veronique laments the situation and wants the resistance to back off. She tells Sean that there is no leader now that Luc is dead. Sean tells her that she is their leader and must take charge and call a retreat. He kisses her and goes off after Dierker alone.
We climb up the Eiffel tower, using lifts, on the way we find lots of murdered nazis. Seems Dierker has killed almost all under his command in a fit of rage.
Sean eventually confronts him. Revenge is hollow however, though Sean is beginning to accept that while he fought the Nazis seeking revenge on Dierker for killing Jules. The greater fight against the evil of the Nazi's is more important than his original quest.
Seems he will continue to fight for the greater good this time.
The credits roll after we have blown Dierker off the balcony with a single shot.
Not the boss battle I was expecting but a nice ending which really hammered the futility of the final revenge moment for Sean.

That is the main story over. That accounts for only 62% of the missions and I have only done about 4% of the freeplay targets of which there are hundreds.
15 hours on the ingame clock.
535 achievement points.

Raven Squad Notes

I choose regular as I am not sure really what to expect here.

A voice over on a black screen where an inspirational quote from Winston Churchill glows in white. It is four days before Christmas a three man team has been sent to an unknown jungle location to eliminate a drug dealer as a favor to the NSA.
We se a helicoper coming in low over the sea, it lands on the beach of a jungle island and three men get out.

Mission 1 Prologue
The controls the usual rotation and movement with the analogue sticks.
So far no other buttons do anything, well Y make a binging sound and tells me that tactical view is unavailable.
Right trigger is shoot.
My two other squad mates follow me around.
Clicking in the left stick crouches.
Clicking on the right stick aims.
We have to progress to a white marker.
I am told that the beach needs to be cleared of guards. There are three to shoot.
I am told to get some rockets.
The three man squad are named Paladin, Oso and Thor. You can switch to any of them by pressing the d-pad button assigned to them. We are told to change to Thor once we get the rockets and use his rocket launcher to blow up the armory.
Now we are tasked with using the tactical view.
Pressing Y changes to a view from high in the sky of the landscape. we can move around using the left stick. The right stick rotates the view or zooms in and out.
If we press A on a spot the men move towards it. We are encouraged to look around the surrounding area at three specific points. We are shown the enemy leader, some of the soldiers scattered around and locations of health and weapons crates.
We are told to get some grenades and blow up some crates that are blocking the way.
I do this by Holding Down Left trigger and pressing the appropriate button for the character who has the grenades.
Seems that each character has a special skill, Thor has rockets, Oso has grenades.
I get into a firefight and switch to fps view to kill the attackers.
I am encouraged to move to the commander and kill him. Then once done to go to the helicopter. I move through the map checking the tactical view for enemies and moving around, then switch to FPS for the actual firefights.
I kill all the enemy soldiers and get to the helicopter.
The mission ends.

Mission 2 Touchdown
We have to go deep into the Amazon and find a crashed plane, primary objective is to recover a disk, survivors are secondary.
A cut scene shows the plane coming in low over the jungle, it is hit with a rocket from a Sam site and is going down. The soldiers jump from the plane and parachute to the ground.
It is a rough jump and Paladin is knocked unconscious. He wakes to find himself alone.
The handler manages to contact him but there is a lot of static. Seems we are on the edge of satellite coverage.
We are tasked with finding the rest of the squad.
I find Oso under attack and save him. He joins back with me and I can switch to him.
We are told to hide in the undergrowth as a chopper comes over.
Thor meets up with us and a jeep arrives. We are told to shoot it using Thor's rocket launcher.
I am directed to a certain point, where we have to wait for others.
Now we get to control a new squad, like before they are split up and we have to get them all together.
Shadow is the leader I get control of him.
Flash and Zombie are the other team members.
They have stun and smoke grenades as their skills. Shadow is a sniper.
We now have to reach point alpha with this team as well.
Which isn't far away.
The two squads are now separated by a piece of engine from the plane wreck. We can now switch to tactical view and see that the plane is nearby and crawling with enemies.
Using a charge we blow up the plane engine by pressing A on it in tactical view.
The enemies coming to investigate it are blown up with it.
We move forwards to the plane and kill all the surrounding soldiers. The disk is not to be found. There is another plane to search and it is the same, looks like the soldiers have found it. we go to their Sam site and kill everyone there. The mission ends here with the news that there is a logging camp up ahead under guerilla control. Looks like our disk might be here.

Mission 3 Village attack
We have to go into the logging village, which looks like it's a slave camp anyway.
Rodriguez is the warlord here but it looks like he may be working for someone else.
Again we are searching for the disk.
A cut scene shows the gang being ambushed in the jungle and fighting their way through it. It reminded me of the A team, lots of shooting but at nothing.
We progress to the village and have to clear it of enemies. Med packs can be picked up for both teams here.
A cut scene shows us asking a slave where the package is and not really getting very far.
We progress to the logging camp. Some soldiers are taken out a small camp to get some more ammo.
As we enter the bigger logging area a cut scene shows the two teams being separated by a tree being felled in an explosion during a firefight.
Paladin's squad are hemmed in and unable to return to the area that needs to be searched for the package. They come under fire from a group of enemies.
We have to take Shadow's team into the village and kill the enemies and search a group of highlighted crates for the package. Shadow finds the package and we radio for evacuation.
The chopper is on it's way when the radio is jammed.

Mission 4 Shattered hopes
We are trying to reach the evacuation point in the hope that the chopper will be there.
A woman's voice comes onto the radio. She tells us that she is a archeologist working for the enemy, she however wants to defect. She will guide us in return for a rescue. Paladin agrees, though he has no intention of mounting the rescue and is using her to get to the chopper.
We get tactical view back and find that the two teams are not that far apart and a logging yard is up ahead. I send both teams in, in different directions and kill all the enemies in the yard.
Our next objective is to reach a clearing. Then some ruins, there are enemies of course in the way. At the ruins we have to take out a machine gun nest.
Helicopters come over and drop some enemies behind us which gives me a hairy moment.
I progress through the ruins to the helicopter and find that our pilots have been captured and the helicopter sabotaged.
25 minutes

Mission 5
We have to resupply before we can assault the main base. Hopefully rescuing Xian our pilots and getting a new helicopter.
At the village soldiers are forcing civilians into trucks.
I go in and clear the village.
I speak to the villagers and they tell us that the pilots have been taken to the hacienda nearby.
We now have to get to the coffee plantation.
Now we have to cross the large open fields which are filled with soldiers.
After we cross the plantation we come to a warehouse and are ambushed by lots of soldiers.
After this Xian tells us that Rodriguez is in the factory nearby. We are to go and kill him.
I enter the factory and kill all the men, Rodriguez escapes out of the back door however.
Next we have to assault the hacienda.
The Hacienda looks like it will be heavily guarded, however it isn't really.
I kill the few guards and talk to some civilians.
The pilots have been taken away with a group of other prisoners.
Xian is asked to try and find the convoy that has taken them.
We are attacked from the roof by Rodriguez. He runs around on the roof and we have no way up. Basically you just have to shoot him when you see him. I sent the squads to either side of the hacienda and when he went to each side just hammered at him with guns.
There was probably something obvious I was missing but it worked anyway.
Mission ends with the gang resolving to attack the pow camp and get the pilots back.

Mission 6 Alliances
We are about to attack the pow camp.
We have to circle around the camp, I think I was meant to be stealthy and avoid the patrols. I didn't I just shot them all.
Inside the camp are a lot of dead bodies.
I fight my way through the camp, taking it slow and sure. I find the pilots and they are dead. There is a Brazilian General with the bodies, he tells us that his men are in the next barracks. They will help us if we help them take the camp and get the civilians out.
Once we kill all the guards in the camp we have to hold the camp while the civilians are loaded into a truck. The enemy start to pour into the camp.
This is a sudden difficulty spike, the first time I have actually been taxed and died.
However this is because I was unprepared for the enemy to attack on two fronts.
Once I split up my teams placed one in cover guarding a funnel point and the other team near the main gate manning an emplaced gun it was plain sailing.
RPG soldiers arrive at the end of the time spent loading the civilians and we have to go out onto the road and clear them away.
Once done the mission ends.
In cut scene we see the civilian truck leave and the Brazilian general ask us to help him free some more soldiers. we go along with them as the Brazilian general is the best bet to give the team the aid to get the hell out of Brazil.

Mission 7 Urban nightmare
We enter a town to help Sanchez.
The town is quite large and although it looks like it's a rabbit warren of streets, there are blockages of walls and vehicles that make it a linear crawl through funnel points of enemy ambushes.
I make my way through the market and find a machine gun post. It looks like it's going to be hard to take out but I get my sniper in a good place and kill all the men guarding it.
Up ahead at a church a truck with an emplaced gun is circling in front of the church. I try to rocket it but run out of rockets. You only get two.
I use grenades and that does it. I get to the church and the Brazilians follow.
The mission ends when the general gets there.
21 minutes.

Mission 8 Ferry of Styx
Sanchez is reunited with his men, they are in fairly bad shape. The church is no place to defend either. Paladin thinks it a good idea to get everyone out of the town.
There is a ferry nearby and the plan is to take it and use it to evacuate.
We start back at the church and have to make our way through a series of waypoints fighting heavy numbers of troops.
We get to the ferry and as we ask Sanchez to come the church explodes as if hit by an airstrike.
We get to the ferry and find it has no fuel. One team is too stay and guard the ferry as the other goes and gets the fuel from nearby.
I get to the fuel waypoint and find a truck with fuel.We now have to drive it to the ferry under heavy attack.
As we park the truck next to the ferry the mission ends.
A cut scene shows the gang on the ferry come  under rocket attack. The ferry is sunk.
25 minutes.

Mission 9 Wet Dusk
The ferry is sunk, but at least the gang are across the river. We are now heading for a satellite control center.
The gang are dredged up on the beach at night and must now make it through the heavily patrolled jungle to the enemy base.
I make my way through the jungle, at one point enemy soldiers are taken out by a rocket. The squad question what is going on, was it friendly fire or is someone helping them out.
We come across a torched village, which Juarez had destroyed due to lack of co-operation. We promise then man we will save captured villagers and kill Juarez, since we are going that way anyway.
We have to fight through the village and up to an enemy camp where the prisoners are.
Seems there are another group of civilians, I go to the camp and save them.
Another group to save.
The waypoint indicator tells me to investigate a crate. When we do a gas grenade is triggered and the squad are rendered unconscious.

Mission 10 Revenge
The gang have been taken prisoner by Juarez. Xian thinks all is lost, however she manages to get in contact with General Sanchez, who it seems was not killed in the church blast, seems he and his men hid in the crypt which saved them.
Out to repay Paladin for his earlier help, General Sanchez sends troops to aid Paladin.
As the gang are being brought to Juarez's camp Sanchez's son saves them by attacking the convoy they are in. Together they decide to take out the artillery which has been shelling us. We enter a large camp and take out the first gun. Sanchez sees  Juarez making a break for it. He goes after him leaving us to fend for ourselves in the camp and to take out the other guns. Two more artillery guns have to be blown up by walking up to them and pressing A
Notice here that shells will explode when shot, there are also exploding barrels.
Once the artillery has been blown we are now escaping the camp.
As we do Xian is disturbed by someone coming into her room, have the enemy finally found out who is helping us.
We have to make our way through three waypoints in the jungle with no satellite view to aid us.
21 minutes

Mission 11 Ruins of Amazonia
Again we are heading for the satellite control center. No RTS view available.
We take the only path available and fight some enemy, they use smoke and grenades on us.
Xian comes back online when we reach a waypoint. She was questioned about heavy satellite activity but made excuses. However, they are watching her now.
We will have to get her out very soon. There is a large camp up ahead and we must rescue other prisoners here. We are tasked with crossing a road and avoiding being seen by patrolling vehicles.
Then we go through the jungle shooting up enemy patrols.
Next we reach the ruins and are told to go to the dig site.
Which we are already at but we must go to the centre of it.
Now we are to free the archeologists.
Once that is done we are told that if we hide in a truck loaded with archeological relics then we can get inside the camp.
We have to hold off enemies as the truck is loaded then escape the dig site to the truck.
Mission ends when you get to the truck.
31 minutes

Mission 12 Boy meets girl
Now we have been dropped off at the gates as we now try and enter the base, get Xian and escape in a helicopter.
We see a cut scene of Sam sites blowing helicopters apart, looks like we will have to get the Sam sites out of action before getting away.
I take out three Sam sites, usual stuff, attack the defending soldiers and place explosives.
Now the air defenses are down and we can call the Brazilians to try their attack again.
The Brazilians mount an all out assault on the front gates of the compound, allowing our much smaller team to enter the rear under cover of the distraction.
The base is fairly empty and we make our way through to the front where the Brazilians are shooting ineffectively at the front gate. We have to do all the work from within and this is a fairly crazy section.
There seems to be a never ending stream of soldiers from a hut at one side, while you have to deal with snipers in two towers near the gates, there are also machine gun emplacements at either side. You are also flanked by guards from behind.
A sudden difficulty spike indeed.
I eventually seem to fulfill the criteria for finishing this section which isn't clear as men keep on coming, it seems there are a key few that don't respawn that need to be taken out.
Now we have to take out a generator.
Brazilians come in to help, but are fairly ineffective.
I take out the generator, we now have to defend a satellite center containing Xian while she blows the jammer that has been cutting us of from our original controller.
I defend the center for a minute and then the jammer is off and the OC comes back online.
Juarez is coming to attack for a final boss battle, he has an armored vehicle.
He drives around in a set path, and after the earlier scene at the gates is a piece of cake to kill.
Sometimes the objective waypoints don't trigger, it's a glitch, leaves you wandering about wondering what to do.
Final cut scene shows Sanchez being interviewed by news crews and telling of the final attack that destroyed Juarez and his rebellion.
We don't even see Xian and Paladin meet, which was sad I thought.
The gang leave in a truck and the credits roll.

Tried the multiplayer and couldn't find a partner to play with, which is a shame, as it might have been nice to control one squad and have someone else control the other.

Roughly 6 hours of play time.
495 achievement points for one playthrough on regular.

Avatar Notes

First thing is to choose an appearance for you and your avatar.
A cut scene shows a shuttle flying down to land on Pandora.
An in game engine cut scene starts and we are on the shuttle and The doctor is talking to us about Pandora. She is mad that more soliders are coming. Still we are assigned to Dr. Harper and we watch as the shuttle lands.
We are picked up at Hells gate by a character called Kendra.

I get control and we can run around in the landing area. Kendra is there with a Y above her head which suggests we should speak to her.
Usuall analogue sticks for movement and camera. Third person left of screen over the shoulder view.

We move through an airlock, and through the complex to meet with Dr. Monroe.
Dr. Monroe is an ass and gives us grief, he tells us to hurry up and get into the avatar link machine.
We see a cut scene of our character getting to grips with her avatar form.
We are now tasked with going to see a person named Midori. That is Kendra's surname.
Kendra tells us to go and see Falco.
We go up in an elevator to the command deck and meet with Falco.
he wants us to find a mole in the avatar programme who is feeding the navi info.
He wants to prevent a native uprising.
We are tasked with finding a chopper pilot and flying to the lagoon.
back down the elevator and outside to the helicopter.
We get to choose from a map of the planet where we want to go.
At blue lagoon we are told to speak to Kendra.
She tells us that viperwolves are attacking and we are to help.
We are to go up to a turret and defend troops who are returning to the camp under heavy viperwolf attack.

Mission 1
Our next mission is to go and find a man called Dalton out in the jungle, he is stuck.
We go out in a buggy, Y to get in. Left trigger accelerates and right trigger brakes.
We come to a barricade and have to get out of the buggy. Here we meet viperwolves, and have to fight through them to get to Dalton.
I pick up a token which if i collect enough of them I can get my health filled up when I am near death.
each viperwolf and some plants give you xp when you shoot them.

Mission 2
Dalton needs us to lock a signal. We have to go to a waypoint and trigger a device.
Then we are told to go back to the base.

Mission 3
We are introduced to fast travel teleporters.
We are told to take a boat and go to the forward base.
We take a boat to the forward base and meet Kendra.

Mission 4
Dalton is in more trouble.
We go and speak to him and he tells us that there is breaches on the fence.
We have to go and fix some malfunctioning sonic repulsors.
Two repulsors must be fixed and some viperwolves killed. Back to Dalton for the mission end.

Mission 5
A change of scene
Kendra asks you to "fire up" your avatar.
We are then told to go and see Dr Harper.
I trudge through the jungle to the next marker.
Dr harper is strange, he tells us we will either be best of friends or worst of enemies.
He tells us to go and help his associates.
We are asked to go and sample a chalice and a scorpion thistle.
I go to the marked area and there are plants which need to be sampled.
Viperwoves attack as I do.
I collect enough samples and am told to go back to Dr. Harper.

Mission 6
I go to Dr Harpers map location and a cut scene shows us being saved from a huge beastie by a native.
We are prompted to go and speak with the native.
He is called Tan Jala and speaks very good english, apparently Harper has been teaching him.
He tells us that sturmbeasts have became infected with something brought by the humans.
He wants us to kill the sick ones.
I go to the map indicator and find two of these dinosaur type beasts to kill.
A cut scene shows a large gunship blowing up something native in the jungle.
We are told to go and see Falco.

Mission 7
Back at the human base Falco tells us that Tan Jala is the link to the mole he is looking for. He wants us to follow Tan Jala to a meeting with the mole.
We have to take a long linear trek, supposedly following Tan jala.
At the waypoint we see Tan Jala meeting with Dr. Harper.
Falco tells us not to let him get away.
Harper tells us that he has joined the Navi and shows us that the gunship was blowing up a navi village.

Mission 8
We are given a choice shoot Harper or shoot the soliders. This will split the game along two paths.
I choose to help the Navi first.
Shooting the men finishes the mission.
We see Falco escape.

Mission 9
We find ourself in the Navi Village. Harper has a waypoint above his head.
I go and speak with him. He tells us that he is going on a mission to recover their human bodies and bring them here.
He tells us that we need to learn how to ride an animal. We must learn from a warrior, however we must speak with his mate marali first.
beyda'amo Need us to bring him a plant sample.
We have to shoot a special plant using our bow and arrow. This turns some rocks and makes a jump possible.
We then have to get the sample. Taking the sample spawns some human enemies.
We then have to take the sample to Beyda'amo.
He is not happy with the flowers and is distrustful of one who can betray their own kind. Some much for accepting that you think the humans treatment of the navi is so despicable that you are prepared to betray your own kind. Silly boy.
Anyway he wants us to destroy some towers to prove our worth. Apparently the RDA have left some bombs lying around.

Mission 10
I have to go back to Marali.
She tells us that the flower we gave to Beyda'amo tells him that we have her blessing.
She tells us to go and find seven sets of explosives.
This is harder than it looks. The open map here is a bit of a maze and getting to the seven waypoints is harder than it looks.
Also there are lots of soldiers, floating exploding drones and gunships flying around.
There are also emplaced guns on towers.
The avatar has four weapons, An RDA avatar gun. Bow and arrows, sword and staff.
I eventually manage to find the bombs and place them at the tower.
I have to now speak to Beyda'amo
He asks us to tame an Ikran, we have to climb to the Ikran nests.

Mission 11
I have to make my way to the ikran nest. There are viperwolves in the way.
This is a long climb up though a vertical ascent to the nests of the banshees.
There are soldiers in the way at times.
I make it to the top and a cut scene shows us getting our banshee.
We now have to fly it back to Beyda'amo through a series of waypoint markers.

Mission 12
Beyda'amo want us to attack some towers the RDA have placed to spy on the Navi.
There are three towers, I think there might have been some strategy planned here and a bit more depth, however basically all I did was fly the banshee in right to the base of the tower, set off the bomb you trigger at it's base and fly out. Rinse and repeat three times.
Back to Beyda'amo and he thinks you have done well, but you are still a human and he hates you for it.

Mission 13
We have to go and find harper.
He tells us the the RDA are sending in dragons. These are the huge gunships.
We are told to climb too higher ground and destroy the dragon.
We have to do this three times. Basically climb to a vantage point near the dragon and jump on top of it. Then you hit a marked spot and rinse and repeat three times.
The dragon goes down, however it's friends turn up and blast your cabin where your human body is stored. Your avatar slumps to the ground.

Mission 14
You awake after the ceremony to transfer your consciousness into yout avater. A priestess named Sanume tells you that your human body is dead. Bedya'amo still thinks you are not Navi.
We are in a new map called world tree.
Sanume tells us of the well of souls, an ancient willow tree which is the nexus of the gaia like spirt of Eywa which binds and connects all Pandora life.
Falco seeks to gain control of it. We must get there first.
We have to speak with San Jala.
He wants us to fly to Swotulu.
At Swotulu we are to speak with Mekanei the shaman. He tells us to go and find Lungoray.
We have to investigate three locations. At each we find some RDA shooting up the navi settlements.
Encounter jeeps and exoskeltons here to fight.
After the three locations we have to speak with Mekanei who tells us he has found out the Lungoray and Unipey have went to attack bulldozers.

Mission 15
We move to the new map location where we find bulldozers sitting idle in huge swathes of cleared land.
I find unipey after blasting flowers which knock down rocks.
She is as usual hostile, I wonder why i even bother. She wants us to disable the bulldozers, only because she thinks we will fail and die.
There are two bulldozers, now that the mission is started they move in a circle. You must get onto trees above them and jump on top and hit a control antenna.
This disables the bulldozer. There is also a tower which is easily destroyed by shooting blue plants near it which are explosive and they blow the tower with them.
Back to Unipey for more abuse.

Mission 16
Unipey wants us to free captives  of the RDA Lungoray may be amongst them.
We go to an rda outpost and break in through a weak part of the fence. Here some soldiers fight us, we hit a switch to free some prisoners and go back to Unipey.
She tells us that Lungoray has gone to attack the factory and we should go and help him.

Some details on the abilities
Swarm wrath
summons a cloud of beasties to swarm and kills anything around you in a short radius.
Kinetic dash
Makes you phase in and out and run faster
Pandora's union
Become invisible for a short spell
Titan bash
A ground pound move that stuns nearby enemies
Pandora's protection
A shield that reduces damage.
Eywa's breath
Restores your health bar.
Beast's Aegis
calls a viperwolf to fight with you.
Whirl of fury
Improves you damage for a short time.

All of these are triggered by Pressing left bumper and pressing a mapped face button.
They last a short time and then recharge before they can be used again.
There are upgrades to these for greater length or strength of effect.
Bows, swords and bow are also given upgrades at certain levels of xp.

Mission 17
We enter the compound of the mine through a weak fence and fight some soldiers, pressing a switch opens a gate down to the mining area.
Here is a huge quarry. I find a Navi dead in the middle, it is a trap, three exoskeletons appear and attack.
I manage to kill them and then have to climb up some vines to get higher up the sides of the quarry.
At the top we can jump over to a mining platform. A gunship drops some soldiers and you have to clear them. You then jump to the platform and flick a switch. This brings a banshee to get you clear as the platform explodes.
I go back to Unipey and she is actual greatful this time.
She tells us they Lungoray will guide us to him now.

Mission 18
We have to follow a glowing trail of willows and plants to Lungorays location.
As we get there Kendra talks to us.
Seems things are getting out of hand in the RDA camp and a lot more people are beginning to have cold feet about what falco and the likes are doing to the Navi.
We enter the glade and meet Lungoray
He wants us to gather shards for some reason.
We have to trip around the map picking up three shards, which typically are guarded by swarms of rda soldiers, exoskeletons and various wildlife.
Taking them back we get a cut scene.
Lungoray starts to perform a ceremony with the crystal shards which will show him where the well of souls is.
However he is shot by an RDA sniper before completing the ceremony.
Tan Jala tells us that we must complete the harmonic ceremony.
We have to place crystal around the tree on certain spots, the ground glows and the contorller rumbles to signify the spots.
Once done Tan Jala asks you to take the song back to the hometree.
I move to the hometree and speak to Sanume, we have to sing the song for her. We see a cut scene of us doing this.
She tells us we have to find another song for her.
She thinks that we may be the one to speak with eywa the world spirit.
We have to speak to Tan Jala who allows us travel to a new area called Toruka Na Ring.

Mission 19
We speak to Amanti the chief here. She tells us that humans are retreating but destroying everything as they go.
She urges us go and help free captive animals and destroy animals the humans have made insane by tryin to control them.
I go to the location and kill soldiers and viperwolves. There is also a gunship that needs shooting down.
Amanti tells us to go and see beyda'amo
When we get to him he is attacking a human camp.
He asks us to help in destorying a dragon.
We have to shoot the four rotor blades of the dragon as it flies around the clearing.
Then release animals from cages by shooting the locks.
Hukato wants us to bring him some healing plants to heal his thanator so it can fight with us.
I collect the plants and go back to Hukato.
He tells us we can now ride the thanator.
We have  to speak to beyda'amo who as usual is a prat.
beyda'amo wants us to collect a crystal for the song.
Doing this is easy enough.
back at Beyda'amo he want us to report to Tan Jala.
I get to Tan Jala and he wants us to get the next shard.
we have to destroy all the rda forces in the area.
Then pick up a shard.
Tan Jala sends us to Amanti for the last shard.

Mission 20
Amanti tells us we must pass through a bad place. Beyda'amo will show us the way.
Beyda'amo shows us a place where the rda have been experimenting on the animals again.
A cut scene shows the larger flying predator attacking a dragon.
We have to progress through the rda experimental zoo killing all the implanted animals including two thanators.

Mission 21
Amanti sends us to collect the shard.
I collect the shard and return to the village. Here we place the three shard in the right spots and get the new song.
We are told to go back to hometree.

Mission 22
We sing the song and are told to go to Tan jala for the next stage of our journey.
we move to va'era ramunong.
Time to find more shards.
I speak to Swawta and he asks us to secure a navi village to the north.
When i clear the village I am asked to find the village doctor and bring her back.
This is a new thing, an escort mission, though fairly easy. Simply heading back to the village completes it and the doctor simply follows you home.
Now we have to defeat an exoskelton.
The village leader is pleased, he tells one of the navi to show us the shards location.
I go to the navi and he leads us into a ravine where the shard is guarded by rda.
The nest shard is at the east village.
At the east village we are asked to seek healing plants for a leader.
We have to go around collecting samples from a certain plant. There is big creature resistance as well as the rda.
Next we have to go and reunite some hunters who have left due to the loss of the leader. There are three downed hunters and we have to press Y at each of them to complete this task.
I go back to the village and they now have their leader and hunters back.
They point out the location of a shard on the map.
A cave  is blown open for us and inside is rda and the shard.
Next we have to go and find Beyda'amo to the north.
Beyda'amo is as usual openly hostile while asking us to save him.
Why we bother I don't know.
We have to destroy rda troops so that Beyda'amo can get survivours out of the war zone.
Next he wants us to blow up weapon crates as a diversion while he attacks elsewhere.
The crates are heavily guarded, hitting four switches sets of the bombs.
Back to beyda'amo who gives us the location of the final shard.
We go to an rda base which is under attack. We have to climb inside some large crystals to find the shard here.
back to Tan Jala with the shards to find the tree.
We find the much larger than usual tree just as Falco bombs it. Managing to get the song first of course we make our ecape.
Back to the hometree to sing the song.

Recovery bar allows you lives, essentially when you die you get to have a full energy bar again, otherwise you go to a respawn point which isn't that far away. Picking up the collectible plant samples gives you ammo and fills the recovery bar, you can fill it multiple times giving you multiple recoveries.

Mission 23
Kxania taw is the new area.
We meet Beyda'amo who tells us the shard is east at a crashed human vehicle.
When we get to it the shard is blown up by a gunship.
Back at Beyda'amo he is pissed off as usual.
Another shard is found again when we get to it through stiff resistance it is bombed from above.
Beyda'amo want to go full on the main rda base.
When we get to the marker we are asked to cause a stampede of sturmbeast to break through the fence.
This is done in cut scene, guess they couldn't be bothered to make it into the game.
Inside the base we have to kill ten defenders then get the shard which is an rda lab.
Now we go to the tree.
Beyda'amo is angry when we tell him that the shards are blown up. However we still manage to collect the song.
Beyda'amo is finally impressed.
Back to the hometree to sing the song.

mission 24
We are asked to go to the well of souls, first though there is a human at the hometree to speak with us. It is Kendra, she tells us that Falco knows the location of the well of souls. It seems we are in a race against time now to activate the dormant well of souls.
We move to a new map location Kaolia tei
Beyda'amo tells us that the way to the well of souls is blocked by humans.
He wants to knock out the commanders so they the rda will be in diarray.
we have to speak to three navi and get our targets.
Our first is named batista.
I ride to his location and kill him.
Then back to the navi who asked us to kill him to report.
Next target is a man called Winslow.
back to the navi to report.
Our next navi is in the mountains and we have to fly to him.
Our target is man called Savoy.
He is in an exoskelton I kill him.
Back to the navi.
Now we have to fly to the well of souls.

Mission 25
We go to a new location called tantalus.
We have to march through a cave to meet Amanti.
When we get to Amanti she wants us to defend the village.
We have to kill 18 attackers.
we must find some air travel.
A short distance away the leonopteryx which is a larger reptile bird lets us get on it's back.
We then fly to the well of souls.
At the well Falco arrive with a dragon, we activate the well in cut scene and a blast of energy from it brings down the dragon.
Tan Jala arrives and congratulates us.
The credits roll.

11:51 to complete the Navi campaign. 290 achievement points.

Now it's back to the checkpoint, which has handily been saved for us.
I am back at the mission where we choose to shoot either Harper or the rda men.
I shoot harper down. In cut scene he dies and shoots me with an arrow. My avatar dies. Our helicopter crashes and we have to find a mining base to find help for the injured pilot.
I get to the mining base and get inside.
The situation in the mining base is bad, they are under siege by banshees.
Winslow gets us a scorpion to return to the crash site with.
Flying the scorpion takes some getting used to.
At the crash site Kendra wants us to take circuits from the downed chopper to get our missiles online.
We have to now take out the banshee nests.
Using rockets we have to blow up five banshee nests.
Inside the base we are told to go and collect three shards and take them to the willow tree. No explanation is given.
I fly a scorpion to the first location, it is a cave, inside I get the shard then the cave falls down around me. You have to escape the only exit quickly before it all comes down.
Onto the next shards location inside the crystal cave.
I am now to go to the tree.
We have to place the three shards at the tree.
Kendra meets us with a scorpion.
We get the ability to move between maps on the globe now.
I have to go back to Hell's gate.
At hells gate we have to upload the harmonic to the computers so that we can make the emulator.
Monroes goals are to find the well of souls and place a device called the emulator at it. This emulator will hack the navi's links with nature and seriously screw up their bonds with the plants and animals.

The FEBA
We have to go to FEBA now wherever that is.
At the feba we are to help with the soldiers needs and locate the shards.
At the first waypoint we have to kill a hammerhead before we can get the shard.
At the next we see a chopper go down and have to go look for survivors.
I meet the surviors and they tell me the shard is here but guarded by a beastie.
I get to use an exoskeleton.
I meet the thanator shoot it a lot and get the next shard.
I get a ride in a chopper back to Kendra.
I go to a man who is under siege from Beyda'amo.
Once I kill the navi attacking I can get the shard.
Now we have to go and get the harmonic.
Once we have set the three shards around the tree Bedya'amo turns up and I have say I enjoyed killing him, serves him right for being a twat.
back to Kendra and we have to go back to Hells gate and speak to monroe.
Monroe tells us that the navi use a special navi called the first voice to control the well of souls.
The emulator is an emulator of what the first voice does.

Graves Bog
We are now going to grave's bog.
We have to get the first shard from a navi village.
Then report to Fulson, she asks us to guard the west gate, then the south gate and the east gate. We have to kill 10 navi at each gate.
Then we have to prevent sturrmbeast from trampling the camp flat.
This is an on rails jeep ride whilst firing a rocket turret at sturmbeast and navi. We get a bit in the middle where the jeep breaks down and we have to hold the enemies off until we get going again.
We meet up with Kendra and have to get a shard from a navi village to the west.
A scientific camp has gone quiet, they have a shard, looks like they are under attack.
We have to go investigate.
I find the camp and it's totally wrecked and full of stuurmbeast. I find the shard in a container inside one of the ruined cabins.
I go to a soldier called Jezik and he wants us to collect a shard from a navi village.
I get it and go back to him, he sends me to the Tree which is guarded by Tan Jala.
I kill Tan Jala then put the shards around the tree.
Back to Kendra and off to Hells gate.
We give Monroe the harmonic and are told there is one more needed.
Falco is getting ruder, we have to go to the hanging gardens.

Hanging Gardens
When we get there the camp is being attacked by Navi, we have to kill ten to finish the attack.
I speak to Winslow, who want us to activate repulsors at a supply depot.
I do this and Batista comes to us and tells us that we need to recover detonators from a helicopter crash site so he can blow open the way for us.
We have to go back to winslow who tells us to blow down two rock walls.
I do this and viperwolves pour into the camp. We are tasked by Winslow with stopping the attack.
We have to blow up viperwolf nests, four of them.
Winslow now wants us to get his radar working. We have to find power cells for it.
We then have to take the power cells to the radar and activate it.
We have now used the radar to find Harper. However there are two link signals suggesting two human avatars.
We are sent to investigate.
Kendra also wants us to find the three shards.
I find a human avatar and kill it, then kill him when he emerges from the link chamber cabin.
I go to a location and place three charges this blows open three caves, inside is a shard.
I find the other avatar and kill him and his human.
I find a shard at the top of a large spiral staircase type rock.
Back to Kendra We are sent to get the tree harmonic, also it looks like Harper will be guarding it.
I get to the tree and a wall seperates us. We have to get Batista to blow it up.
Batista provides us with a vehicle to blow up the wall. I do so and enter a new map.
I kill Harper and place the shards around the tree.
Back at Hells Gate Monroe has gone missing.
I am asked to upload the harmonic by Kendra.
Falco has gone after the well of souls to destroy it. We are to follow.
I go to the plains of Goliath.

Plains of Goliath
I am told to go to Quaritch, he tells us to take out some Navi commanders.
We are to go and see Batista
He tells us to go and find and kill a navi named, Swatwa, here we get another choice moment in cut scene when I get close to the Navi.
Falco is nuts and going to wreck the emulator and plunge Pandora into chaos for both the Navi and the humans.
I decide to stick with Falco as I really like him (Not).
I kill the navi and report back to batista.
Now we have to kill Hukato for Winslow.
We are told to take the scorpion to the last commander.
Savoy gives us Raltaw as the name of the navi we have to kill.
I go and kill Raltaw.
Back to Quaritch and he gives us a dragon to go after Falco.
I fly the dragon to a base and land it.
We need to blow down a wall.
So now we have to gather explosives.
I do and take them up to a village.
I have to fend of navi attack for three minutes.
Then place three charges.
Then get to a safe distance.
Now we are told to take the dragon to the well of souls.
At the well of souls we land the dragon and meet falco who is setting up the emulator.
We get to fight him one on one.
The fight is fairly easy for a last boss.
I attempt to fix the mess of the emulator that Falco has made and get it working. Navi approaching on Banshees are thrown by their mounts.
Quaritch calls us a hero and asks that we return to base.
Grace talks on the radio telling us that all we have done is show Eywa how cunning we are and next time she will be ready for us.
Credits roll for the second time.

9hrs 20mins. 490 achievement points in total now for 21 hours of playtime.

Run fast more damage. Selectable from a menu to hot button onto the face buttons.

I try the conquest which is a mini strategy game where you build troops and vehicles and move them around a globe like map. The aim is to take over all the territories. I soon run out of money and interest.

Borderlands Notes

A voiceover drones over concept art. On a planet called Pandora there is a legend of a piece of advanced alien technology called the Vault. The vault promises wealth and fame beyond imagining.

We see a cut scene of four people riding in a bus. This is the class selection screen. We have a choice between Soldier, hunter, Berserker and Siren.

I choose soldier.

A vision of a woman appears to you and tells you that she is here to help you find the vault and that you aren't going mad.
We get off the bus.
A robot greets us and gives us some tech. This is out heads up display, called an echo device.
We get control, usual FPS controls, analogue sticks for movement and Right trigger to look down your gun sights.
We are told to follow the robot to a New U station. This is basically a checkpoint, where once activated we will restart when we die. There is some high tech cloning and mind scanning tech explanation for this.
We go to the gates of a settlement and as we approach raider vehicles jump the gates.
The robot lets us in. We get to fight some raiders.
The controls are very COD, B to crouch. Clicking Left stick to run, X to reload. Y to change weapons.
After shooting up a few enemies I find a chest and get some new guns.
We progress through the town until we get to a house. The robot knocks and tells the occupant that we have cleared their bandit problem for them.

We get our first quest/mission.
A screen allows us to choose the active mission and a waypoint appears telling us where to go.

Mission 1 Dr. zed
Someone called Dr. Zed wants to thank us but can't get the doors open.
I open a door and we get introduced to the unlicensed saw bones doctor.

I level up, which means I have more health and can deal more damage. I also get my health and shield recharged.

Mission 2 Skags at the gate.
We are attacked by more raiders and have to kill them.
Now there are dog like animals called skags outside the gates and we must kill them. % of them and the mission is done. We have to go back to Zed.

Mission 3 Claptrap rescue.
The robot is shot in the attack and we must get him repaired.
A repair kit is nearby and using that on him fixes him up nicely.

Mission 4 fixer upper.
We need to get a shield, however the machine that dispenses them is broken.
We need to get some parts from another unit outside the town and fix the machine.
The part is on a machine just outside the gate. Some skags are guarding it.
Back in town we fix the machine and can buy a shield and some health packs. We can also recharge our health at the machine.

Mission 5 Blinding nine-toes.
Nine-toes is a bandit leader and he has men watching the town of Fyrestone. Zed wants us to kill them.
We go a little distance away to the bandit camp and kill eight bandits. I scout around and find a shotgun to go with my machine gun and pistol.
Back to town to Zed and a reward.

Mission 6 Meet Tk Baha.
We have to go and see a blind man who lives Nearby called TK Baha to find out where Nine-toes has his hideout. There is a large reward for Nine-toes.
We meet the blind TK Baha and he is a redneck loony.

Mission 7 TK's food.
We have to get the food that TK has had stolen from him by the skags back.
Nearby Skag holes have 4 pieces of TK's food which we must liberate from the Skags.
TK Baha tells us that Nine-toes hides out in Skag Valley.

I notice that there are piles of Skag poop which when search yield items.

Mission 7 Got Grenades?
we have to go to Marcus in Fyrestone to buy some kit for our showdown with Nine-toes.
We have to buy a grenade specifically. I do this. You fire one using left bumper.
We now have to return to TK.

Mission 8 Take him down.
We are to go into Skag gully, which is barriacaded. Once inside we are to kill Nine-toes using TK's dead wife's gun.
I go to the waypoint and detonator blows the barricade for us.
I find a marker which takes us to a loading screen which gets us to Skag  Gully.
In skag gully I level up to level five and earn a skill point. This allows me to upgrade on my skill tree. I can get the first thing which is Scorpio turret.
I try and jump down off a cliff and find that I die.
I kill a lot of skags here. There are older skags and acid spitting skags here.
I find the grave and rattle the headstone for two new guns.
I enter the hideout of Ninetoes, I am attacked by mutant midgets and raiders here.
I find a boss battle type arena area and we meet Nine-toes. He is aided by two special skags in the fight. I find  that when I die I go back to the nearest respawn point.
I then go back to the fight and finish it. The dogs seem to have their health back, I am not sure about Nine-toes. I kill the dogs and Nine-toes and loot their hideout. Now to go back to Zed and Tk.
Tk is a happy man and tells us that this will piss of Boss Sledge.

Mission 9
Now we have to return to Zed for our reward.

Mission 10
We have to check out the job board in Fyrestone for our next job.
This board has two new missions to choose from.

Mission 11 Catch a ride.
Scooter wants us to check out his ride system.
When we find this piece of tech out near the door of Fyrestone it is broken.

Mission 12 Bone head's theft.
Bone head has stolen a critical part from the ride system.
And now we come to the annoying bit, yes this is an RPG as This mission is ranked at level 10 and I am only level 7. This means that try as I might I can't get Bone head and his gangs shield down with the weapons I have.
Eventually and I do mean eventually I kill Bonehead and his gang. I get the part I need for the ride machine. Taking it back allows me to spawn a vehicle. This is driven like a halo warthog. Y changes to gunner seat and we can shoot missiles and fire a machine gun while in the vehicle.

Time to grind, but how do I grind?
I have to kill the same respawning enemies a hundred times. Why did they take the shit bits from RPG's and add them as well.
Oh and the A.I. sucks enemies will stand still and let you shoot them for ages as long as you stand out of their range.

Mission 13 The piss wash hurdle.
There is a barricade between Fyrestone and the main road. Boss Sledge's men are guarding it and there is no way through on foot. However the vehicle can jump the canyon on a handy ramp. Going over the ramp we can flank the barricade. Kill the men and open the gate.

Mission 14 Return to Zed.
We go back to Zed and he gives us an extra weapon slot so we can fast change between three weapons now.

Mission 15 Sledge: Meet Shep.
We basically have to drive to a location and talk to a man, mission done.

Mision 16 Sledge: the mine key.
We have to go into a heavily defended wind turbine station to get a mine key.
There are lots of bandits, brusiers, and large corrosive skags.
When I eventually get to the key location we find that someone else has stolen it.

Mission 17 Get the flock out of here.
There are a flock of creatures called Rakk, near the wind Trubines, Shep wants us to kill them all.
These things are flying bat like creatures that come from a ground based nest.
The vehicles guns make short work of them.

When you lose your health and die you get a few seconds to keep on damaging enemies. If you can't damage anyone you will bleed out, kill someone and you get to come back from the dead with a second wind.

Mission 18 Braking wind.
We have to go back to where we found the key note and kill all the same enemies again. This time we are hitting three switches to start turbines as the objective.

Mission 19 Get a little blood on the tires.
Go run over ten creatures, an easy mission.

Mission 20 TK has more work.
Go see TK and the mission is done.

Mission 21 By the seeds of your pants.
We have to go and get some seeds that TK needs.
We have to go back to skag gully for this.
The blade flowers are scattered around Skag gully so that we have to take a full tour of it and kill all the skags. There are eight sets of seeds to collect.

Mission 22 Tk's life and limb.
We have to go and kill Scar to get back TK's prosthetic leg.
Scar is a larger Skag which is up in a previously inaccessible part of Skag Gully.
Killing him isn't that hard and we get Tk's leg in the loot that Skag drops.
Back to TK to end the mission.

Mission 23 Hidden Journals The Arid Badlands.
We have to go and find 5 journals scattered around the area.
The journals are from a scientist named Patricia Tannis. She tells of her arrival on Pandora looking for the vault and it's a tale of woe from their on in. However amongst the tales of descending madness and of her team being eaten we hear of a dig site and proof that the aliens really have been on Pandora and the vault might actually be real.
The five journals are all in areas we have been to before execept one which is in a new area filled with enemies and the Rakk make an appearance again.
Taking the journals back to the board in Fyrestone finishes the mission.

Mission 24
We have to find journals from two sets of bandits who dies camped out in skag gully.
Someone wants to know why they were out there.
The two journals are marked on the map and fairly easy to get to, only small skag and Rakk in the way.
Seems once we return the journals that Boss Sledge sent them their to live for a while to intimidate the Fyrestone people.

Mission 25 Scavenger: Sniper rifle
We have to find parts of a sniper rifle.
This means going to a new area called Arid hills.
Which is huge and filled with enemies.
There is a bandit camp which the pieces of sniper rifle are scattered around in. I kill all the bandits then find the pieces.
Returning to the board finishes the mission.

Mission 26 Circle of Death: Meet and greet.
Take part in an arena as a gladiator??
We have to go to an outpost called Groaning Hollow and meet Rade Zayben.
That is the first mission at the arena.

Mission 27 Circle of Death Round 1.
We go into the arena and fight against a pack of skags.
Surviving opens the door out.

Mission 28 To the safe house.
Back to the main story missions.
We have to travel through the arid hills to a new area named Sledge's Safe house.
This is a large complex of corridors and rooms where we meet stiff bandit and Psycho resistance.

The  boss here is a large psycho, once he is down we get the mine key.
The ghost voice comes again and tells us that we can go after Boss sledge now.
We have to go all the way back to a new location in the fyrestone area to a gate which i presume is the one we just found the key to. This ends the mission.

Mission 29 Sledge: battle for the Badlands.
We are to infiltrate headstone mine and kill Sledge. Also we are to get his Eridian Artefact.
We enter a new area here via a portal to a new map.
This is a large mining area.
There is a mounted gun which deals heavy damage. Once you kill the gunner you can get control of the gun for some fun.
Sledge is a large armoured bad guy in a little room of his own. Killing him  is hard but not the toughest thing yet in the game. Maybe I was just well levelled here.
I pick up an alien artefact that Sledge had, seems to be something to do with the vault.
Getting back through the map is quite hard.
Back at Zed in Fyrestone we collect our reward.

Mission 30 Leaving Fyrestone
We are to travel to the Dhal Headland and speak with ernest whiting.
Travelling through the fyrestone area I come to a new gate which is opened by a robot for us.
We can now travel to the Dhal Headland.
He we find a vehicle station right in front of us and a quick jaunt takes us to Ernest and the mission is done.

Mission 31 Getting Lucky
We are to rescue Lucky Zaford at the last chance waterin hole.
For the first time we get bandits in vehicles attacking.
The Dhal headlands are fairly open desert. There is a settlement, filled with bandits to kill and then we find lucky and release him.

Mission 32 Powering the Fast Travel network
Seems that there is a teleporter we can use to travel between new u stations.
Only it's broken and we need to fix it.
Two breakers and a master switch have to be thrown.
There are two pylons out in the roads which have switches to jump up to.
Once you throw the switches it spawns some enemies. Either bandits in vehicles or new scythid scorpion/earwig/bug type things.
Then you have to go to a power station which is filled with bandits and flip a switch. Back to Ernest and you can now use fast travel.

Mission 33 Road Warriors: hot shots
A bandit vehicle gang led by Mad Mel is terrorising this area.
We have to go out into the main open area here and kill 8 vehicles which endlessly respawn until we kill them.

Mission 34 Road Warriors Bandit Apocaplypse
We have to kill Mad mel.
I drive to an arena where we have several on foot and vehicle mounted bandits to kill then Mad Mel himself in a bigger vehicle.
The gate open on the other side of the arena when we finish and we can now move into the New Haven area.
This is a large settlement with non hostile characters.
I find the boss of New Haven Helena Pierce and finish the mission.

Mission 35 Power to the people.
We have to turn on 5 generators around new haven.
Which is a fairly easy no enemy jaunt  around the town.

Mission 36 Seek out Tannis.
After having prove to Pierce that we are not just good for killing bandits she decides to let us progress. Pierce is a firm believer that the vault is a myth. We have to go and meet Tannis the researcher at her dig site.
We have to talk to a claptrap to open the gate to rust Commons.
Rust commons is another large area with settlements and lots of bandits.
There are new ant like bugs here that are very hard to kill. Looks like i need to grind.
I eventually get to Tannis by running for it and avoiding combat as my current level means I have no chance of killing the largest bug here.
There are glowing ruins here that suggest the vault is nearby.
Tannis tell us that out alien artefact is only a part of the vault key. There are more.
We have to help her get the parts of the key.
She knows that a man called crazy Earl has a piece of the vault key. He also has her underwear??

Mission 37 Claptrap Rescue New Haven
I find a broken claptrap, there is a repair kit nearby, but you have to puzzle jump up onto a roof to find your way up to it.
Back to the claptrap and mission is done.

Mission 38 King Tossing
The tetanus warrens are ruled by a nutter called King Wee wee, we have to go and kill him.
We have to travel to a new areas called the tetanus warrens. This is a big area, made out of piles of rubbish and shanty shacks.
There are scorpion type enemies here in varying sizes and varieties of acid spitting.
Lots of shacks filled with bandits. I eventually find King wee Wee and he is a midget who uses a weird grenade system and tries to melee you to death.
A weird boss fight but ok.
Back to New Haven and the mission is done.

Mission 39 Scavenger: Sub Machine gun.
We have to go out and find pieces of a sub machine gun. Again the pieces are hard to locate due to being semi-hidden and the map locator being a bit off.

Mission 40 Hidden Journal Rust Commons West
Find 5 journals scattered around the map.
These missions aren't really that fun, only doing them for grindings sake.
The journals do at least tell a part of the story.

Mission 41 Corrosive Crystal Harvest
We are tasked with harvesting 50 corrosive crystals from the tetanus warrens.
When we get ther glowing green crystals that we couldn't shoot last time now can be broken up with gunfire and collected. Basically all the monsters and bandits have respawned so this is a repeat of mission 38 only collecting crystals.

Mission 42 Like a moth to a flame.
You have to go and light three torches which attracts a huge flying beastie.
Killing it finishes the mission.

Mission 43 Find Bruce Mclane
We find Bruce's body in a shack, well in a tunnel under the shack anyway. Bandits have killed him. We find his journal.
Seems Bruce got some local leaves, dried them and turned them into cigars. He sold them to bandits who died smoking them. Their friends got revenge.

Mission 44 Product recall
We have to go and collect three boxes of Bruce's poisonous cigars from the middle of a bandit camp.

Mission 45 Scavenger Combat rifle
We have to find the parts of a combat rifle.

Mission 46 Insult to injury
Skulls of someones research team have been mounted on poles in a bandits camp. The researcher wants us to get some payback and get the skulls back.
10 skulls on poles to find and collect.

Mission 47 The legend of Moe and Marley
Two skags must be hunted down and killed. These are bigger boss type skags and they shoot electricity and fire. They are also surrounded by hordes of other smaller skags.

Mission 48 Claptrap rescue The lost cave
Find the claptrap, find the repair kit, take it back to the claptrap.

Mission 49 Shock Crystal Harvest
Find the shock crystals in the lost cave area. Shooting up piles of crystals while killing all the respawned baddies.

Mission 50 Circle of death round 2
Survive in the arena.

Mission 51 circle of death final round.
Survive yet more skags in the arena.

Mission 52 schemin that sabotage.
We have to go back to headstone mine, kill all the respawned enemeis, this time we have to plant three fuses, or destroy three fuses i am not sure. Then pressing a nearby plunger sets the pipeline alight.

Mission 53 Claptrap Rescue Safehouse
I go back and repair a claptrap i missed on an earlier mission.

Mission 54
We go to a new map here called crazy Earl's scrapyard.
I find a blocked gate to Crazy Earl's, there is a gas canister nearby and shooting it finishes the mission?
We find Cracy Earl inside in a caravan. He speaks to us through the door.

Mission 55 get off my lawn
We have to  kill 25 bandits and 3 spiderants for Earl.

Mission 56 Today's lesson High explosives
We have to find an explosive charge stolen by bandits and set it off in their camp to teach them a lesson.

Mission 57 hair of the dog
Earl wants us to collect 24 bottles of booze for him. A new area here called Treachers landing.

Mission 58 The next piece.
We now have to go after a bandit called Krom who has taken Earls vault key.
If we had known that we wouldn't have helped Earl.
Anyway we pass through a new area called rust commons east, to get to Krom's canyon.
Krom's canyon is a funnel up to a large emplaced gun on which Krom sits and fires rockets and machine gun at you.
Killing him gets you the piece of vault key.

Mission 59 Earl needs food badly
While we are in Krom's area we can get earl some canned skag meat.
The rest of Krom's map is filled with bandit shacks.
Getting the ten cans of meat is quite a hard affair, harder then killing Krom. The respawing of enemies here seems to be more frequent. You can no longer be assured that an area is safe once cleared, as sometimes the enemies respawn without you actually leaving the map.

Mission 60 Krom's claptrap rescue Krom's canyon
Claptrap is broken, repair kit needed, claptrap fixed and it leads you to a cache of weapons.

Mission 61 Jaynistown secret rendezvous.
We have to do a deal with a bandit to get to the trash coast, as the only way across is via a drawbridge.
We have to go to the bridge and talk to a  claptrap there.
The bridge is now open and we go to a rendevous with a bandit called Cobb.
He will get us into the trash coast however as usual he wants some jobs done for him in return.

Mission 62 Jaynistown A brothers love
Jaynis is the ruler of Jaynistown, his brother wants him dead as he has turned the town into a bandit haven.
Jaynistown is a settlement nearby which is walled and filled with Bandits.
Killing them all I find Jaynis and kill him.
back to Kobb and it's mission over.

Mission 63 Jaynistown Spread the word.
We have to go and tell Erik Franks in new haven that Jaynis is dead.
Marcus warns us that he does not supply Tannis with goods, he wonders where she gets her stuff from?
In New haven talking to a random npc completes the mission.

Mission 64 Dumpster diving for great justice
We have to go to six dumpsters and retrieve porn mags that Erik's wife has chucked out.

Mission 65 Jaynistown getting what's coming.
We are to collect a reward in a container outside of new haven. This sounds like Taylor Cobb cleaning house by having us killed. Still I suppose we should do the mission, even if it sounds like a trap.
It is a trap, openning the empty container spawns loads of bandits.
Killing them we are instructed to report to Helena Pierce.

Mission 66 Jaynis cleaning up your mess
Helena tells us that Jaynis was nuts, but Taylor is nuts and slightly cunning. He will be much more dangerous than Jaynis as ruler of Taylortown as he is now calling it.
We are tasked by Helena to clean up our mess by killing Taylor.
When we get back to Taylortown Taylor has been busy, there are rocket and gattling guns on the roofs off a few buildings and the bandit supply is restocked.
When we get to Taylor himself he hems us in in a small area with doors that close on us. He then has loads of bandits two rocket towers and he himself wields a rocket launcher. This took many respawns.

Mission 67 Another Piece of the puzzle
The guardian angel is what the game seems to be calling the female who has been urging you on all along. I wonder why we trust her as she seems to have some sort of vested interest in the vault yet is doing no work to get into it.
I actually think she is on of the Eridians, but hey lets not spoil the surprise.
We are now at the trash coast, where both Tannis and the angel think the hopefully last part of the vault key lies.
This area is a large open area of coast, there is a lot of spiderant activity and then we finally find the challenge. One of the rak hives that we have been seeing reveals itself to be just the tip of the back of a huge elephant like animal. We have to kill this boss as it shoots out lots and lots of rakk to kill us. Mainly two types defender and kamikaze.
Eventually I kill it and the objective is marked as a door in a cave. As we approach the door burns down and we hear rakk noises. A large fire breathing rak appears. However we don't have to fight it as it just leaves. We go inside and a container contains the final vault key piece.
Oh no it doesn't. Back at Tannis we find there is one more piece.
We have go to salt flats to find a Baron flynt who has it.
However to get to the salt flats we have to get a claptrap to open the way for us.

Mission 68 Smoke signals Investigate old haven.
Old haven is a new area.
The Crimson lance whoever they are have taken over old haven and are luring bandits in and killing them.

Mission 69 Not without my claptrap
In the large town of Old haven we fight much stronger solider type enemies.
I find the claptrap and free it.
Mission done.

Mission 70
We have to stop the fires which the crimson lance are using to attract attention to old haven.
Four fires must be closed down. There is very heavy resistance here.
Once done back to Helena in New haven.

Mission 71 The final piece
We have to infiltrate Baron Flynt's harvester, which is a huge stucture, which once was a harvesting rig.
The rig is grounded and a small town set up around it.
We have to destroy some bandit patrols, four of them.
The we get inside the perimeter town and find our way to an elevator up onto the deck of the harvester.
On the deck we get a few waves of bandits, then two larger bandits, one attacks with a machine gun and the other a huge sword.
Then flynt himself who has an explosive sniper rifle.
Once he is dead we go to his treasure chest and find no piece of vault key.

Angel tells us that this isn't how it is supposed to happen and she seems to be flustered for the first time.
Steele who controls the Crimson lance tells us that Tannis is in league with her and that we have been duped. They have  the key and she politely tells us to get off the planet while we still can.
Helena comes on the radio and tells us that sanctuary is being attacked, wherever the hell that is.
We have to get the vauult key back from Tannis.

Mission 72 Get some answers
We are directed towards a crimson lance base. On the way we encounter lots of crimson lance soliders.
We can't get into the base, however our marker leads us to a back door. An old tunnel which is long disused. We are attacked by lots of spiderants here.
We continue through the tunnel until we come to an arena where there are three boss type soldiers to fight.
Now there is a map transition to Crimson fastness.
The crimson fastness is a bunker like maze.
I find Tannis here in a  cell. She it seems was also betrayed.
Steele has the vault key.

Mission 73 Find the echo command console.
We have to get the echo system back online so people can communicate again.
I move through the maze again and find the console. not so easy, there are three other switches to be found.

Mission 74 Reactivate the echo comm system.
We have to go into a wide open mountainous area called Crimson Enclave. Here we must activate three consoles. each is in a heavily fortified building.
There are eridian soliders flying around here fighting the Crimson lance, they are losing badly.
We then have to go back inside the crimson fastness and reactivate the first switch again.

Mission 75 Find Steele
We have to go after steele as she goes to open the vault.
Angel is pleased we have got the echo system back up and running.
We have to make our way to the entrance to a new area called the descent.
This is a huge hole dug into the ground and obviously the motherload of Edirian architecture on Pandora. The vault is nearby. There are Eridian soldiers here and this time they attack us. Seems that they don't want anyone near the vault either.
We go along a long winding snowy cliff edge filled with eridian and crimson lance duking it out.
As we finally get to her a cut scene shows her opening the vault using the three key pieces.
The arch of the symbol forms and a gateway to another dimension opens. A huge Lovecraftian monster appears in the doorway and eats Steele. Angel urges us to destroy the destroyer.

Mission 76 Destroy the destroyer.
We have to kill this huge boss.
It consists of a huge eye and tentacles, oh and a  mouth.
It attacks with it's tentacles, shoots out spiny explosive barbs and has a laser beam.
Killing it is basically a game of hide and seek avoiding it's shots and taking shots in between.

When you eventually kill it Angel tells you that she used you to open the vault, however, it was only because she knew you were the one to destroy the creature.

Angel is reveals to either be a satellite in orbit and an a.i. or talking to us through the satellite in orbit.
Tannis will give us ample reward on angels behalf.

That seems to be the final main mission of the game. All that remains to finishing our first playthrough is taking the vault key back to Tannis.

That took 30 hours and gave me 605 achievement points.

I will probably play on a bit and do some more missions but essentially that is the main story done. Only repetitive side missions and grinding for achievements to accomplish.
