Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Notes

I choose to start a new campaign on Veteran, what the hell I am a masochist.

A jeep arrives at a building. Soldiers swarm in. Two main characters enter a vault. They find an old man. The old man warns them that someone is going to attack. The old man is Frank Woods. A flashback starts, it seems one of the men is David Mason, Alex Mason's son. The flashback shows Col. North speaking to Alex, with the current time Mason as his young son in the background. North asks Mason to go into action to save Frank Woods. There are obviously some abandonment issues going on.

Mission 1
The first Mission is in Angola, I am playing as Alex Mason. The objective is to rescue Woods. Old Frank talks of a man called Savimby, who he claims was madder than a hatter. The mission starts with a man trapped in a jeep burning alive. Alex Mason is trying to save him but he can't break the glass. Savimby appears and tells Mason to come away and start a counter attack. We start by advancing across a wide open plain which is full of enemies. We have to follow Savimby's jeep to start with, then take out three mortar operators. We then have to call air support and use it to take out some tanks. The next objective is to kill some jeep mounted gunners, two of them. We then climb onto Savimby's jeep and shoot from it as it advances. The battle is won. The helicopter that was providing air support comes in and we leave Savimby and his men.

Woods tells us that after the events of Black Ops 1 he was taken prisoner in Hanoi.

Mission 2
we are riding on the skids of the helicopter. Savimby's intelligence suggests that Woods is being held on a barge. The helicopter quickly approaches the barge and we land on the back of it under fire. I have to advance and clear the deck of the barge of enemies. Then the gunboat escort starts to attack after they are cleared. Two mounted guns can be used to blow up the boats. Some enemies make it onto the barge and I have to clear them. Once done I have to open a container on the back of the barge. Inside we find about twenty badly decomposing bodies. Woods is here, barely alive. As I take him out of the container a Hind helicopter attacks. I have to pick up a rocket launcher and use it to blow up the Hind. The rockets are guided manually. Once hit enough times a cut scene starts and the barge runs aground. Mason dives in to save Wood's who has fell into the water. I swim to shore with Wood's in tow. I now have to carry him on the ground. We move on through the jungle and come to a village, there is a radio mast. Hopefully I can use it to get extraction. We see children being used as soldiers. We now sneak through the village and past enemy soldiers using cover and long grass. I am prompted by the man I am following what to do and when. I am told to get to the radio while my friend takes care of woods. I move on, find some ammo and weapons then move into the village and in through a window. I find a man using the radio. I point the gun at his head in cut scene, he smashes the radio rather than help us. Men burst in. I take the man hostage at gunpoint. He continues to be an asshole and pulls a grenade pin. I shoot him and jump out the window. I now have to run back to Woods and my friend. We run headlong through the jungle with the village complement of enemies on our tail. At specific points I have to stop and make a stand. Then move on further. Jeeps attack also. At the beach a Hind comes in and all looks lost. However the Hind attacks our enemies not us. It is Savimby and we are rescued.

Mission 3
We are now playing as David Mason in 2025.
Frank talks about the man we met at the radio. He  survived and has become a leader of a drug cartel, his name is Raul Menendez. He rises in time to become a leader of a terrorist organization named Cordis Die.  A mineral that is controlled by the Chinese has become important. The mineral is called Celerium.
We start halfway up a cliff, using special gloves to hold onto the rock face. We then use a rope to swing each other along the rock face. I reach a ledge and a tree is hit by lightning. It snags on the rope and almost takes us both over the edge. Another soldier intervenes and we are freed from the rope. I now have to use a wing suit to reach the camp of the enemy. This is quite a fun little flying section. On entering the camp a cut scene shows that some of the enemy have invisibility suits. This becomes a typical push through the map fighting mission. I come to a temple door after a while and the team blow it open. Inside we find a very large metal door. Inside this lab we find one of the invisibility suits. Things go quickly bad in the labs and we are attacked. There are small robot gun droids here. We push on and go down in an elevator. After some more fighting we come to a room and find a man in a crate. His name is Erik and he is a scientist. He tells us that Celerium will create better microchips. He asks that we get him out alive and he will tell us everything. We are attacked again and have to defend the area. Once done I have to open a door with Erik. Inside we enter a computer room and Erik gives us a small grenade sized object which he calls the Celerium drive. He tells us that it has more processing power than all of the armies processors combined. It uses quantum entanglement. Erik is shot while he speaks and we are back into battle. I have to make my way through the building. Eventually I come to more of our soldiers who have arrived. I have to make my way to an admiral Briggs who we explain about the Celerium to.

Mission 4
This mission is back in the past, in 1986 in Afghanistan. I am playing as Alex Mason.
A little of Menendez's back story is explained. He grew up in poverty in a war torn country. His family were killed by accidents and the CIA. He hates America with a vengeance. Mason and Woods meet with some Chinese soldiers on horseback Their leader is Named Zhao. They give us horses and we have to ride with them to meet the Mujahedeen. I come into some caves and meet a leader of the Mujahedeen soldiers. He wants weapons not soldiers. We have to prove our worth to him. Russians are about to attack. On cue they attack and we have to go back outside and get back on our horse.
We must ride to a choke point then start fighting. I am told to pick up a rocket launcher to attack the armored vehicles that are approaching. I have to reach a point where I can find the rocket launcher, then destroy two armored vehicles. I then have to blow up demolition charge in the ruins and block the way for any other armor trying to get through this way. I now have to take out two tanks that are approaching the base from another direction. Then helicopters attack, I have to try and hit them on horseback using a rocket launcher. Handily there is an aircraft lock on mode on the rocket launcher I have. After knocking out the hind More tanks are approaching, I destroy two more. I then ride on a bit and have to get into a cave entrance where an ammo cache has been taken by the enemy. A BTR arrives to make life hard along with some helicopters. I have to cross a rope bridge to get to the cave entrance. Once the cave is cleared I am told to ride back to base. A cut scene shows a large tank and more armor arriving. We ride in a fairly suicidal fashion at the tank. This is almost a total cut scene. Our horse falls on us and I have to QuickTime out from under it. Then I am saved and jump onto the back of the tank and drop a grenade inside. A Russian emerges to fight us. He is know to us as Kravchenko.
After the battle we see his interrogation. As Kravchenko is brutalized we see the numbers flashing in front of our eyes. We have to tap X to resist the urge to shoot Kravchenko. We needn't have bothered. He is shot anyway. The Mujahedeen then turn on us and betray a deal with Menendez. We are left in the desert to die. We are saved by Reznov.

Mission 5
In 2025 we are briefed on a man named Tian Zhao who is pressuring Russia to join China. Menendez is courting war between China/Russia and the USA. Our mission is in India
There is a tutorial here for a change to the game. We have a selection of units, including a robotic dog like walker. We can switch between their views and also move to a tactical view from above and move and select units. With the tutorial completed I can now start the mission to defend the base. Which is horrendously hard. The a.i. on my side seems incompetent. They can't be left to do anything right and will be guaranteed to lose their defense points to the enemy. Three points must be defended. Once they are taken the enemy get inside the factory and if they get into the control room the mission is lost. I have to survive of ten odd minutes it seems to win. There are enemy heavy units, robotic dogs etc. along with soldiers. I am only given three attempts to complete the mission then chucked back to a menu and told to get my shit together. It appears that I must complete story missions to gain strike teams with which to play these missions. I am hoping that these are a type of side mission.

Mission 6
I am now heading to Nicaragua in 1986 in pursuit of Raul Menendez.
We see Mason and Woods with Panama soldiers outside the residence of Menendez. Then a cut scene shows Menendez with his sister, she is lying in bed, we don't see her face right away, only her hair and shoulder under the bedclothes. A knock comes to the door and Menendez moves to answer it. One of his men is at the door, he is shot in the head before he can speak. Soldiers burst in and grab Menendez. He watches angrily as the soldiers begin to beat up Josephina, his sister. He breaks free and kills one of the men hurting her. They grab him and inject him with something. He awakes on a hill handcuffed. A leader appears and  kills the men holding him and un-cuffs him. Menendez beats him up and takes his gun. I now have to get back to the house and find Josephina. I fight my way through the village. At times we get specific guns and occasionally use a knife. It seems that in this enraged state Menendez can take more damage than usual. I eventually reach the house again and in cut scene find Woods, Mason and friends in the house. A grenade is thrown and Josephine is killed. In 2025 Woods confesses to losing it when he saw Menendez. Due to his treatment of him. Torturing and killing his men and leaving him in the cargo container to die.
We now see a different side to events at the mansion from Mason's view. We watch until the Panama soldiers come in then we go down to join the fight. I have to fight my way through the village against Menendez's men. I come to the villa and we learn of Menendez's escape from captivity. I have to fight my way into the villa, which is heavily defended. Once the courtyard is cleared I have to go and clear out a cocaine bunker. Hudson, the boss, is concerned about Wood's revenge vendetta against Menendez, he fears he will kill him rather than capture. He asks us to keep an eye on Woods. I run through the drug basement and come out the other side. Woods is going crazy and taking risks to get at Menendez. Eventually I come to the corridor with Menendez and Mason struggles to stop Woods killing him and fails to stop him launching a grenade.
Menendez is dead and his body is taken away.

Mission 7
In the future the Younger Mason is haunted by memories of the past. He realizes that it was Menendez who kidnapped him as a child and killed his father. 
The mission here in 2025 is to capture a second in command of Menendez and question him.
We are in Lahore Pakistan. The area is flooding badly. We start in what looks like a market. We have two dog robots, which we can use to fire rockets for us by painting a target.
I move through the market taking out the enemy soldiers and a drone. I then move out onto the streets. The flooding is getting too high for the robots so they are moved to higher ground and can be used to provide cover. I move along the flooded street until a tidal wave forces us to get off the street into an alley. We see some civilians who aren't in a good state. Next we find helicopter type unmanned drones which are being used to kill the civilians. I have to avoid their spotlights following Harper around.  then take out some enemies and enter the sewers. In the sewers we talk to the admiral via video link on our pip boy. He tells us about the base up ahead. I sneak out onto the rooftops and kill two guards. I then have to scan the crowd below in the courtyard to find Menendez. I do and use the surveillance technology to listen to his conversation. He moves out of range and I have to get a new vantage points on him. All the time avoiding drones. I move around the base a bit more continuing to listen to Menendez. He eventually reveals that he is onto us and has led us into a trap. We escape by diving into the water and swimming for it. I come out into corridors and are fighting enemy soldiers. We come outside and have to use the robots to clear a way to a vehicle so we can escape. Once in the vehicle and driving/flying section takes place where we switch between a drone and the jeep. Eventually we reach the plane sent to extract us. The Chinese general is waiting for us and tells us that an enemy of Menendez is a friend of his.

Mission 8
Studying the intelligence gained from our spying on Menendez the gang decide that he is using a place called Colossus in the Cayman islands as a base to launch his cyber weapon called Karma.
We Arrive by plane at Colossus which is a huge island resort. We are dressed as civilians and out gear is hidden in shielded cases. Passing through security we enter the resort and take an elevator. Harper gets out and we move on down into a basement. We encounter PMC security and kill them. Next We take out a tiny robot spider and send it into a ventilation shaft. This is a little bit of mind-bending puzzling as the robot scuttles through the vents sticking to walls, floors and ceilings. Some places have to be jumped to and there is a electric bite the spider can deliver. The point is to get to a guard who has retina pass access to the server room. The robot spider drops on his head and zaps him then scans his retina. we now can get into the server room ourselves. This is a fight scene as the PMC troops are inside the server area. After clearing the room we find out using an ill conceived minority report style swipe interface that Karma isn't a thing, it is a person. A woman, one we saw earlier as Harper got out of the lift and bumped into. We now have to gat back into the elevator and find the girls whose name is Chloe. We have a hard fight back to the lifts with the PMC troops. As we are in the lift Harper finds Chloe on the dance floor. Defalco comes in and starts shooting hostages until Chloe shows herself to him. He then orders his men to open fire. We have a bullet time like scene where we kill his men on the dance floor, then are off after Defalco and Chloe. The local security are in disarray but are starting to fight back. The place is starting to look like a warzone instead of a resort. I fight on, aided by my men and the security forces. The resort is put onto terrorism footing, which means that anyone with a weapon will be attacked by the robot drones. This adds to the chaos. I reach Dealco just as he get into a plane and leaves with Chloe.

Mission 9
Young Mason and Woods argue outside. He asks for the truth about what happened to his father in Panama. We are now back in the past, in panama playing as Mason. We meet up with Woods and McNight at a house and talk about the plan. We are here to smear Noriega. We are to plant drugs to smear his name. In the future Woods talks about the commander for the mission, named Hudson, and how he felt off. We are now in a boat, helicopters and planes are making bombing runs all around us. I land on the beach and then make my way up to the target area. All hell lets loose and I am fighting. I move past a villa and then into a hangar. I go up onto the roof and clear it, looking to gain high ground advantage. On the roof I go into the next hangar using the skylight and get the drop on the enemies inside. I then work through this hangar to the ground. I come out onto the airfield, here a plane is waiting for Noriega, We clear the area. I am told by radio that Noriega is in a hotel. We make our way into the hotel and Find Noriega. Once he is captured we are told by Hudson to escort Noriega to a location for prisoner exchange. The mission is changing under us. We are moving through the slums, Noriega ask for a weapon to protect himself. Hudson orders us to give him one. Which I am sure will turn out to be a bad idea. We come out into the streets and meet up with the fighting again. We have to make our way through the heavy fighting. We move into a hospital like area and as I move to help a nurse who is hurt I ambushed. Woods saves us and we then are fighting again. Noriega has slipped away in the confusion, we give chase. I catch Noriega and as we chat with him a target designator is thrown into the room, a gunship begins raining fire down. I have to run and jump to escape. We reach the objective, an army checkpoint. Hudson tells Woods that we have to trust him. Woods and Noriega take an elevator to the top of the building. Noriega apparently knows the location of a target even more important than he is. He tells Woods that it is Menendez. He tells him to look through the scope of his sniper rifle. I do and two men are holding a hooded man who is struggling. Noriega tells us to take the shot. I do and in cut scene we go and examine the body. It turns out to be Mason, Wood's has shot his best friend. Menendez appears and shoots Wood in both knees. We then see him kill Hudson, Hudson had helped Menendez due to the fact that he had kidnapped his children. Menendez tells the young David Mason to remember his pendant. Wood's collapses from loss of blood.

Mission 10
In 2025 David Mason works out that the cyber attack is going to affect both China and America. It is also going to happen the next day. The admiral is putting a plan in effect to capture Menendez in Yemen. Our character here is a deep cover CIA asset called Farid.
We start in Menendez's camp, he asks us to follow him. We see him meet Defalco. We go out into a courtyard where many of Menendez's followers are gathered. The American attack commences. Menendez is indeed expecting it. He is ready to blow the plane that appears up. we are told to meet Menendez at the citadel and split up. He still seems to think Farid is on his side, so far anyway. I now have to fight through the streets with Menendez's men against Yemen forces. There are drones and robots to fight. Eventually we meet up with Menendez again, he shoots Harper's plane out of the sky and we are told to execute him. I am given a choice here, to shoot Harper or try and Shoot Menendez. I take a go at Menendez knowing it won't work. He shoots Farid. We now take on an American role and go after Menendez. Now I have control of the drones and can target where they go to. I am heading for the citadel, which is an ancient fort. At the summit of the citadel we capture Menendez. However it is too easy, he obviously wants to be captured.

Mission 11
David brings Menendez in chains onto the destroyer. He is interrogated and tortured. He tells his interrogators that he will speak only to David Mason. Menendez obviously has a plan. A passenger jet is heading for the Obama. Suddenly Menendez is free and holding a gun to our friends head. He tells us to put on the cuffs then knocks us out. We come around some time later to hear alarms. Menendez is gone. We are now fighting through the ship. I have to try and make my way back to the bridge to get control of the ship back. Some robot emplaced guns have been turned against us. I get to hack one and take out a room full of enemies. In the bridge there is no way to get control back. I am back to trying to find Menendez again.
I fight my way to a control room and get a technician to begin running a facial recognition scan of all the cameras in the ship for Menendez. We see Admiral Briggs trying to reboot the servers to gain control of the automatic defenses. Then we see Menendez waiting outside. The scene shifts to Menendez's point of view, he is speaking to Defalco. It appears Briggs is falling into Menendez's trap, he expects him to do this and has put measures into place to take the server room when he does. Briggs triggers the reset and Menendez can come inside. In the server room we sneak up behind Briggs. A cut scene shows Menendez holds a gun to his head and drag him into the main part of the room. Two soldiers and Salazar are in the room. Briggs tells Salazar to shoot through him to kill Menendez. Salazar reveals he is working for Menendez and shoots the two guards. We are then back in control of Menendez. An option to kill or wound Briggs appears and I shoot him in the leg. Menendez sits at the controls. He takes out his glass eye and breaks it, revealing an SD card. Menendez inserts it and it uploads a virus into the computer and then on into the entire military networks. Back with David we are trying to reach the server room. I crawl through a vent and into the server room, it is too late, Menendez is gone, his work done. We go after him. Menendez has left in a fighter, however Salazar has surrendered. David speaks to him and then Harper kills him. We now basically have to escape the sinking ship. we fight out onto the deck and have to make our way to a working plane. Eventually I make it across the war zone and Harper and Mason get away in a plane.

Mission 12
Section and Harper are now with the President on air force one. They realize that Menendez has used American drones to attack China. He is also using them on US soil as well. Air force one is attacked and shot down. The president is put into a humvee and is being taken to a shelter. However the drones start to attack the city at random and the humvee is blown off the road. We are now on foot in a warzone with the president. The first job is to take out the drones attacking with a Sam turret. I then am joined by a plane which is here to help us. I am given a choice, to rappel or take sniper duty. I take sniper, which mean I stay up on the overpass as the rest take the president down on ropes to the ground below. I then join them when I have cleared the area. On the ground we are to get the president into a vehicle. I am then to drive the lead vehicle, clearing the way. This is a quick driving section through the crazy exploding collapsing streets. Until a truck rams us and knocks us out. I come to and we now must fight onwards on foot. I have to advance along a street filled with soldiers and claw robot dog like things. We are now heading to try and save the French President, I don't make it in time. The pilot of the plane who has been assisting us is hit and puts the plane down. I then have to get to her. As I do an explosion of some kind goes off. We are knocked out for a period. When we wake up the plane is vacated and Anderson is taken away for medical attention. I then get into the plane. What follows is a fairly random and annoyingly short but varied control scheme flying section. I eventually manage to not knock into buildings and take out the drones to end the sequence.

Mission 13
Menendez has been tracked to Haiti. We must stop his control of the drones before they attack China. We are flying in and dropping in on wing suits. The planes are being blown up by missiles as we approach and it is a crazy descent in to land.
One the ground we are accompanied by a large force and meet Menendez's troops head on.
I fight through the entrance to the compound under heavy fire. There are cloaked invisible troops here. I fight my way into the buildings and through factory type areas. Then up a large mission control like room. After killing everyone here we try and hack the signals controlling the drones. Menendez has a further surprise. He appears on all the large screens in the room. He urges the oppressed to rise up while the American war machine is broken. Then he blows up all the drones which would have done the rising up for him. we are now chasing Menendez as he appears to be trying to get off Haiti.
I move through the exploding complex fighting all the way. Eventually I reach a cut scene. We fall through the floor as it collapses and end up falling almost on top of Menendez. I shoot Defalco in cut scene QuickTime and then stab Menendez disabling him. I am given the choice of killing him or capturing him. I choose to capture him.

Cut scenes show us loading Menendez into a plane. Then we see a computer tech explaining that the virus that Menendez released is crippling and unstoppable. It is affecting power stations. We see Menendez in prison and he is aided by electronic means to escape, killing guards in the process. we then see him arrive to visit Frank woods, where he kills him. We then see Menendez at the grave of Josephina, where he sets himself alight.

Far Cry 3 notes

First job is letting Ubisoft know that I am a good consumer and have bought the game new rather than used. I have to put in my U-Play passport code.
I choose story then new game, survivor is what Ubisoft are calling normal difficulty these days. 

We are introduced to Grant, Maisy, Keith, and a few others I didn’t catch the names of. A bunch of young things drinking and partying. A flashing array of images and music shows us scenes of hedonism and beauty in an island paradise. Then it all goes awry, we see that the images are from a phones camera and it is held by Vas, who has Grant and our character who is called Jason in a cage. He appears to be going to hold them for ransom, though he is trying to annoy them and scare them. Vas is called away by someone who appears to be his boss.
Grant gets himself free and then frees Jason. Grant tells Jason to call the guard over. when he comes Grant grabs his head and bashes him repeatedly against the bars of the cage until he is either dead or knocked out. He then gets the key and opens the cage. Grant tells Jason that is what they teach you in the army. As we leave the cage I get control.

Mission one
I am to follow Grant as we try and sneak out of the camp. We sneak past guards and dogs snarl at us. We see a guard gutting pigs. I come to a point where a guard is blocking the way. Grant tells us too throw a rock, which is done by pressing right on the dpad. This moves the guard and we move to a window. Inside the room we wake a sleeping guard and Grant uses a knife throw to kill him. We come out of that room and see vas shooting a bunch of captives, seems there is no ransom for them. More sneaking through a room of guards watching television, we then have to hide in a bush and throw another rock. More sneaking until the edge of the camp and a cut scene.
Vas shoots Grant in the throat, we have to press A to hold his neck in a vain attempt to staunch the bleeding. Vas is ranting away, the sound is distorted. Grant dies and we have to run. Vas gives us a head start.
This turns into a headlong chase through the jungle, sometimes falling uncontrollably at others jumping and running. I am caught by a guard and have to mash A to knife him with his own knife. A rope bridge is crossed and as I do a helicopter appears and the bridge breaks. We end up in the water. Jason appears to be about to drown when a heavily tattooed hand grabs his and pulls him up towards the surface.

Mission two
Jason wakes on a bed, a man is tattooing his arm. The man calls himself Dennis and gives Jason a machete. Dennis thinks that Jason is a warrior. Jason tells Dennis that his older brother has been killed. That his younger brother and four other friends have been captured by the pirates. Dennis tells Jason that he can only help himself, that he is going to free him. Dennis shows us his village and tells us to buy a gun, he gives us money. He thinks that our escape from Vas is a sign. I am told to buy a 1911 handgun from the gun shop, which I happen to be standing beside. Once done I am to follow Dennis again. He tells us of radio towers which Vas uses. We are to use them also. To do this we must disable scramblers on each one. This sounds very much like Assassins Creed.  First annoyance is that after trying to save and being told that I can't in a mission. I stop the game and come back later and have to watch the cut scene with Dennis again. Cardinal sin one, un-skip-able repeated cut scenes has been committed. I just have to follow Dennis to the edge of the town to finish this task.

Mission three
I am now in the game proper, I can loot chests and pick up ammo and money from the environment. I climb the hill to the radio tower. I find a snake in the way of the stairs so I shoot it. The radio tower is dilapidated and it is a reminder why platform games should never be first person. At the top I disable the scrambler. It appears that there are collectibles in the form of playing cards. I have to go back down to Dennis. Handily there is a zip line to take us down quickly. It is strange that Ubisoft seem to think we enjoy climbing up things but not down again! at the bottom of the zip line Dennis tells us to open a map. He tells us that we need to master the jungle is we are to have any chance of getting our people back from Vas. We are to choose a hunting ground, though we are told to hunt boar. A waypoint is set.

Mission four
a car seems to be placed obviously for me to use, so I get in and drive to the waypoint. Here I am prompted by the HUD to pick three types of plant and kill and skin two boars.
The boars run at first then one tries to attack me. I kill two and skin them. Accompanied by suitably gruesome animations. The plants are varied and I pick some of the colors mentioned. I can now fast travel back to Amanki town and Dennis. He shows us how to make health out of the plants and increase our carrying capacity by making bags from the skins.
The next menu to learn is the skill tree. The tattoo we have on our arm gives us more skills. adding to them is done by getting more tattoos. We basically spend skill points in specific areas. Heron shark and spider to start with. I gain two new skills, silent takedown and a sliding move.

Mission five
A phone call comes in and we can hear one of our friends in trouble with the enemy. Dennis tells us to get into a jeep with him. He drives, Our friend is being held at an outpost. If we can capture outposts we will secure that area of the island for the natives. Another jeep joins us on the way to the outpost. We can go in all guns blazing or sneak in. I try sneaking, though it isn't long before a dog give me away and it turns into a gunfight. After killing all the guards a cut scene starts. Lisa has escaped her captors. I can now fast travel to this outpost and there are various jobs available at it's job board.

Side Mission 1
I have to take out some rabid dogs that are killing people with a shotgun.
I go to the marker and find a shotgun, which I am to use. I then have a blue marked area on my radar. I kill the dogs and am rewarded.

Side Mission 2
A pirate is killing villagers, I have to kill him with a knife.
I find the pirate among a group of others and have to stealthily approach him and kill him with a knife kill. anything else resets the mission.

Side Mission 3
I find a quad bike with some medical supplies on it. I have to get it to a flare marker on time. This is simply a race through terrain hitting waypoints marked with flares until you get to the end of the course.

Side Mission 4
Another supply drop quest.
I run out of loot space, I need to get bigger sacks, or go to a town and sell some of the things I have collected.

Side Mission 5
I find a trial of the Rakyat challenge.
This takes an age to load and I basically have to kill as many enemies as possible in a minute with the weapons provided. which is a silenced pistol.

Side Mission 6
I liberate another camp, this time I disable the alarm, which makes it impossible for the enemies to call reinforcements.

Side Mission 7
I have to go to a farm where a pirate gang have taken over to grow drugs. I have to kill their commander with a knife.

Side Mission 8
I am asked by a couple in the village to go and find their daughter. She has entered a suicide pact with her lover. I go to the marked area and find that the boyfriend is already dead. A bunch of komodo dragons need to be killed. I then find the girl and tell her to go back to her family.

Side Mission 9
I find a jet ski by a dock and find that this is a little wave race style mini-game.
You can choose how much to bet and how hard the time will be to beat.

Side Mission 10
I also find a similar land race on quad bike. This is called the island racing league.
The game is simple enough, race through the flare markers until reaching the end of the course against the clock.

Side Mission 11
I find a knife throwing mini-game, it is like old golf games. Aim the knife, then try and hit a tiny segment of a bar that rises when you press the right trigger. You take turns with your opponent and get five knifes with which to get a higher score than him.

You have to kill specific animals to craft specific items to improve your ability. For example to carry more than $2000 you have to craft a better wallet from Caraway leather. Finding the right animal can be a chore.

I come to a camp where I am told to shoot the cage to free the animals. The animals that are freed from the cages will attack their captors.

Main Mission Six
I am told to go and find a Dr. Earnhardt at his mansion. The mansion is a large white wooden building. I find Dr. Earnhardt in a shed, where he appears to have been making drugs. He is an old and emaciated looking man, very eccentric. He tells us about drugs, we ask him about our friends. He seems to eventually remember Daisy. We have to go inside the house and find Daisy upstairs lying on a bed. She was found by Earnhardt after cutting her arm on some poisonous trees. He has been treating her with an antidote, though he has run out of ingredients. We must find him some cave mushrooms. I use handy zip lines down to the caves. Then have to swim into the undersea mouth of the caves. Inside we have to make our way through the caves, climbing on vines etc. Some mushrooms give off spores and Jason takes a trip. Eventually he passes out after seeing visions. We now have to pick up the mushrooms and make our way back to Dr. Earnhardt. I give Earnhardt the mushroom and he tells us to go and check on Daisy. Upstairs with Daisy Jason tells her that Grant is dead.
Jason asks Earnhardt if he can bring the others here once he finds them. Earnhardt tells us that we cannot, as Vas's men buy drugs from him. Daisy pleads with him and he agrees, it seems that Earnhardt thinks Daisy is someone called Agnes and will do anything to please her. Jason is freaked out, but Daisy urges him to play along.

Main Mission Seven.
Dennis knows of a radio that uses Vas' frequencies at an beached hulk called the Medusa. We are to go there and try and find out some intelligence on where the rest of our friends are being kept.
I get to the beached ship, here I must use stealth to get intelligence from radio operators. There are three radio operators and each has a pirate guard. They all have to be taken down with stealth kills otherwise they set off the alarm and the mission fails. Once they are all taken care of you go up into the radio room of the ship. Here we hear some of the pirate radio chatter, an alarm is set off and pirates flood into the area. I have to take out around eight pirates then the mission ends.

Main Mission Eight
Dennis calls and asks us to come back to Amanki town. Here he tells us that Vas is planning to attack the Rakyat. He urges us to help them so that they can continue to help us. Jason agrees to help. Our friends are going to be ransomed soon at a place called SC. Dennis tells us that Vas has a weapons store at a logging camp. If we can get explosives and destroy the weapons it will weaken Vas' troops. We must head to the logging camp. When I arrive at the camp I am told to head to a vantage point. I am told to shut off the alarm.
I then have to plant a bomb. I have fifteen seconds to get clear. The work is done, though if I want to I can mop up the remaining pirates. I am told by Dennis that SC is likely a place called Sunset Cove. I can go there or do side missions. Basically telling me to level up a bit first before taking on the next mission.

Main Mission Nine
I head to Sunset Cove, on the way Daisy calls. She says that she has been moved by Dr Earnhardt into the caves where we gathered the mushrooms. To ensure the pirates don't find her when they come to buy from Earnhardt. She tells us that she has found something that we need to look at and asks that we come when we can. I head on towards the map marker to start the mission. I arrive at the mission point and find a large camp. I have to take out all the alarms and kill all the pirates. One has the key to the prison which is in a cave behind the camp. I enter the prison and have to fight my way through some pirates. I come to a room with a tiger, someone lying on a table unconscious or dead and a primitive screen projection of a film taken by Vas. I move through and an knocked unconscious. I awake tied to a chair, Vas is there spouting his insanity. He pours petrol on us, two of our friends are in the room also tied to chairs. He set a match and leaves us to burn. Jason knocks over the chair and the floor collapses. We are free and moving through the building to get back to our friends. I make my way through the maze of burning collapsing building and back to Lisa. We jump from the roof and collapse through some scaffolding. On the ground we reach a jeep under pursuit from the pirates. This turns into a vehicle emplaced gun section where we use a grenade launcher to kill pursuing pirates. Eventually we get away and the mission ends. Lisa tells us that one of the others is being kept at a place called the bunker. Jason tells her that he is going to take her to Daisy and a safe place.

Mains Mission Ten
We start back at Earnhardt's house. I am told to find my way into a cave behind the house. Inside the cave a cut scene shows Lisa and Daisy being reunited. Daisy has found a boat, which can be used to escape the island. I have to find a part for the boat that is missing. I find it underwater in marked area. We then have to install the part in cut scene. The engine works, but is fairly smoky. Daisy tells us to check on Lisa before we go. There is some dialogue between the two. We are told to exit the cave.

Main Mission Eleven
I am called by Dennis when I leave the cave. He tells me that I need to speak to Citra, the leader of the Rakyat to gain more power in order to defeat Vas. I am to meet Dennis at a temple. I find him at the door, we are challenged by a guard at the temple. Dennis tells him that Jason is a young warrior ready to be presented to Citra. we move through the temple and find Citra eventually, She is a woman who seems to be a very revered leader to the Rakyat. She laughs when Jason tells her that he wants to become a warrior so that he can defeat Vas. After Jason shouts at her about his brother and revenge she gives him a task to complete. We have too drink a potion that Citra gives us. It is a drug and we begin to hallucinate. She tells us to bring her back what was been lost. After drinking Jason passes out and dreams. We are falling from the sky, crashing into the water. Where we find ourselves in a poker game with our friends under the sea. The water drains away and we are on a beach. A man in a suit is behind us. The poker game fades and we are able to move.
I follow the man up a hill towards a shack. Trees and plants sprout as if growing quickly up from the ground as we walk. Through the door we come out underwater again, on a rope bridge made out of seaweed. Visions of our friends and Vas appear and vanish as we move along the rope bridge. At the end we come to the door of the temple inside is a knife. Jason picks it up and the vision ends with a rock falling on him.
Dennis tells us that we need to find the knife.

Side Mission
I meet a friend of Dennis, he wants us to help him restore temples, I have to find 3 tablets in marked areas. Once done I return the tablets.

Main Mission Twelve
I head to the next map marker. It is the town we visited in our vision. Only in reality it is a run down and desolate place, populated by what look like drunks and lunatics. On entering the bar I am told to play a game of poker. I am to find the man in white from the vision. I play poker, and thankfully I don't have to actually play cards. I hate it when they make you play cards in games. The cut scene starts and the man in white comes into the bar and watches as we play. The natives talk about Vas and someone escaping and causing trouble. I think they are referring to me. The man in white congratulates us on a good play and leaves the bar. I now have to follow him without getting spotted. Which is not much fun. Losing sight of him for a second starts a timer. I trail him to a shack and am told to confront him inside. It is a trap. I am faced with a C4 explosive inside the door, under the desk. The white suited man's voice comes over a speaker and asks who we are. On learning that we are Jason, also known as Snow White to the pirates he seems to relent. He asks if we are a true patriot. Jason agrees with everything he says to stop him from blowing him up. A door opens leading down into a staircase underground.
The white suited man is named Willis and he works for the CIA. He tells us that he is in deep cover here on the island. He ask us to help him, by continuing what we have been doing. He gives us a flamethrower and asks that we burn the drug fields and set fire to Vas's bosses boat. This will bring Hoyt, the actual leader of the pirates to the island.

Main Mission Thirteen
I travel to a drug field, it is guarded by two dogs and two pirates. I burn it and am told to go on to the next. There are a further four fields, all grouped into one. There are a lot of enemies in the area. After burning all the fields I am told to get to the boat at the docks here. As I get there the boat moves off. I have to use a rocket launcher on it before it gets away. The mission is done and I am told to go back to Willis.

Main Mission Fourteen
Willis lets us hear a recorded conversation between Vas and Hoyt. Hoyt is not happy about our activities and wants Vass to kill us. We hear a possibly location for a manifest which may help us find our friends. We are to go to a place called Berristown and find the person with the manifest. When we get there we have to zip line down to a shack on the edge of town. On entering the camp we find Hoyt in the middle of making an example of some Rakyat who have been helping us. He makes them run across a minefield. One of the men is the man we need, Willis tells us that we  need to save him.
I move in closer and take out the two guards who are shooting at the man. I then have to get across the minefield. I can see the mines and shooting them makes it safer. When I get to the man who named Rongo. He won't tell us what we want until we help him save his  village. I run with him to the village and have to fight through the pirates until we reach his house. Here we have to defend Rongo against waves of pirates until he finds the manifest. Once done we have a way to find Oliver.

Main Mission fifteen
We are to head to ambush a convoy which is transporting Oliver. We reach the first place we had planned to ambush them and find we are too late. We have to race to a new vantage point. A jeep is handily right there ready for us to drive to the nearby cliff edge overlooking a jetty and buildings. Here we use our camera zoom lens to see that Oliver is being taken to a helicopter. We have to stop them putting him on the helicopter. I am given a sniper rifle and the only option is to shoot at the pirates with it. This turns into an escort mission where I have to shoot at the pirates who are trying to shoot me and Oliver. Oliver grabs a gun and starts fighting back. If you don't kill the pirates quickly enough he is killed and the missions ends. If you kill all the pirates Oliver gets into a boat and brings it over to you. I have to dive off the cliff and get in the boat. Here it turns into an emplaced gun driving mission. boats, helicopters and jeeps try and stop you getting away. I manage it and we chat with Oliver.
A cut scene shows us back at the cave under Earnhardt's house and we speak to the girls.
In the caves under Earnhardt's house I find a signs with a pill saying eat me. This causes a flashback. The gang are in a bar and drinking shots.

Main Mission Sixteen
I meet a man named Buck in the bar in Bad-town. He has bought one of our friends as a slave. Jason asks to get him back. Buck is reluctant and an asshole. He asks that we get him the same  knife that Citra wants. Vas may know the location. We are to go out to a boat called the Nostalgia. I board it and take out the occupying pirates. I now go inside the boat. Here I must fight my way through more pirates. A large armored juggernaut is waiting at the end of the mission.  In cut scene Jason finds an ancient looking compass and a laptop. He gets information from the laptop, though an alarm is tripped and a bomb goes off. The boat is sinking and we have to make our way through it as it explodes and fills with water. eventually I get out and make for the surface. Jason wakes up on the beach and Buck is there. Buck tells us to follow the compass. As Jason looks at it it shimmers in a weird way.

Main mission seventeen
I go to the next Mission marker and find Buck waiting for us. Jason is angry and asks what kind of game Buck is playing. He tells us that the Japanese built the bunker he is standing beside. They were looking for the lost ship of a Japanese general. He lets us go into the bunker and wishes us luck. Inside the bunker I find a maze of flooded tunnels leading to a ruined submarine dock. There are pirates here. I fight them and then have to find a cave entrance. Here I find more pirates and detonate a bomb they have placed to get further into the tunnels. I am now exploring Chinese ruins. I have to swim under a tunnel that is submerged and deal with a crocodile. Then a few more tunnels to negotiate. I come to a door with a stone switch. In the next area I come to a temple. When I jump over a ledge the whole thing collapses. Now  I must do a simple puzzle to progress. I have to hit two switches and shoot out some weak planks to make water rise high enough to reach the ledge.
Inside the temple I find what looks like another part of the compass. The way back is blocked and I have to find a way out. There is a ledge which you can edge along to the left as you come in. This way leads out to the surface, where Buck is waiting. He tells Jason that he doesn't know what is happening, but knows where he is heading. Jason puts the two pieces of compass together and the glow becomes stronger. Buck vanishes. Is he an hallucination?

Main mission Eighteen
Buck is at an old mine when I get there. He tells us that one of the Japanese soldiers took a boat full of treasure and went AWOL. He came to the island and took over. However his superiors caught up and killed him. The treasure wasn't found to this day. Buck indicated that it might be in the mine, or at least further clues are. I go inside. I fight pirates inside the caves. Then i come to a door which is opened using the compass. Inside is a temple with a pull ring in the middle of the floor. This leads into a new cave and a large chasm with a temple. Inside the temple I find another piece of the compass. I then have to run as the place comes down around us. Buck is waiting outside and I put the next piece into the compass.

Main Mission Nineteen
The compass leads us to a large sinkhole. Buck is there as usual. He tells us that we are looking for the tomb of the renegade Japanese soldier. I dive in and find a cave around the edge of the sinkhole. I fight past many many pirates. The new thing here is hot water springs. If you fall in the water you get scalded. I have to make my way through the large caves using stepping stones. I find the tomb and enter it. Here I find the Knife, as I take it dragon heads start spouting fire. I escape barely as the ceiling caves in. Buck isn't there surprisingly. He calls us and asks to meet him at his hut in Bad-town.

Main Mission Twenty
I go to Bucks house. He gives us a key in return for the knife. I go down into the cellar and find that Keith has been held there. It appears that Buck has been sexually abusing him. He comes down into the cellar brandishing the knife. He has no intention of letting either of them leave. I get into a QuickTime fight with him. It ends up with Buck stabbed with the knife. Keith and Jason leave. Keith begs us not to tell anyone about what has been happening. Back in the cave Keith tells Jason that Riley is dead. Jason does not take it well and swears revenge. His girlfriend tries to calm him but Jason rejects her.

Main mission Twenty-one
I go to Citra's temple and give her the knife. She tells us a story of Gods and monsters and how a hero cut of the monsters head. She tells us that a new monster has arisen and asks if we are the hero. Jason tells her that he wants to get revenge rather than just save his friends. Citra tells him that if he helps save Rakyat prisoners she will give him the power to Defeat Vas. I am sent to go and talk to the Rakyat leader, I thought Citra was the Rakyat leader? I find him in the church of a small village. Vas' trucks are due to pass through. We are going to ambush them. I have to plant C4 on a fuel tanker by the side of the road. I am then given thirty seconds to get up to the top of a water tower. The convoy comes in and they are not pirates. They looked like military vehicles. It is too late, the C4 goes off and the first jeep is wrecked. I then have to take out as many of the soldiers with a sniper rifle as I can. The truck leaves. I have to give chase. I zip line down to a handy truck and follow the vehicle. The vehicle stops a little further down the road and I have a few soldiers to deal with. The truck is now unguarded. I open the back and Vas is waiting to pistol whip Jason unconscious.
Vas has us tied up, on the edge of a cliff with a breeze block tied to a rope. He gives us a speech about insanity, which would have been effective is we hadn't already seen it at E3. Jason ends up in the water and I have to mash A to get free. I now have to escape. I come to a pirate settlement and a helicopter passes overhead. I have to reach the helicopter. If I trigger the alarm, and it seems hard not to I have four minutes to reach the copter. I eventually manage it and in cut scene Jason tells the pilot to take off at gunpoint. The pirates shoot down the copter and it crashes. Jason struggles from the wreckage only to be faced with Vas. Vas simply shoots him at point blank range this time. Jason awakes in a pile of bodies and I have to do QuickTime to get out. The Rakyat run in fear, thinking Jason a zombie. Dennis talks to us and we find that a lighter in our pocket saved us. Jason tells Dennis that he is going to see Citra. We have to get our equipment back. This means I must stealth kill a bunch of pirates and get my gear back from a cupboard.

Main Mission Twenty Two
Now to go and chat with Citra, I meet her further into the temple. She gives us more drugs.
This leads to a vision where a huge monster with a mask rises from the temple. We have to shoot it with arrows. In the middle of this boss fight some normal sized masked warrior attack. After plugging the mask with hundreds of arrows it collapses and I have to climb it's arm. I plunge the knife we got earlier into it's eye and have a QuickTime struggle with it. Finally it is defeated and Jason wakes with Citra on top of him practically naked. She calls us a true Rakyat warrior and the Rakyat bow down and pledge to follow us against Vas.

Main Mission Twenty Three
Now we see another mission that was shown at E3. I should stop watching these things, they spoil the game. Anyway. I jump off a cliff, reach a jetty and kill a pirate. Then move towards a camp. I take out some pirates outside and climb inside the camp on a handy rope.
On entering the camp we find a trap. Vas has a room set aside to try and burn us alive in. I escape and fight my way through the camp to a large door with an eye painted on it. There are a lot of pirates to kill here. Inside I enter a room and Vas appears in cut scene to ambush us and sticks us with the stone Rakyat knife. This causes more hallucinatory trips.
Here we see Jason and Vas flickering into each other as if they are the same person. Vas and Citra also do the same thing. Vas asks if we are enjoying his sister's company. This I assume means that he and Citra are sisters. In an annoying scene where Vas' run at me I have to kill him. Rushing past the ghostly Vas seems the best plan. as you come up to him on a stage and then get into a QuickTime fight. Here Vas is killed using the Rakyat knife.

Main Mission Twenty four
Jason wakes beside Citra, she continues to feed him drugs. She talks of how Vas was corrupted by Hoyt. Jason swears to Citra that he will get revenge on Hoyt for her. She asks about Jason's friends and Jason tells us that they will leave the island by boat, without him. He will stay with her. We are then told to leave for Hoyts island. Willis will sneak us over to it. On the way out of the temple we meet Dennis who is very drunk. We are now to speak with our friends. I go and in cut scene tell them to go without me. Lisa is of course upset. I call Willis and ask about help with Hoyt. Willis tells us that his cover is blown and he is leaving. He tells us that he is leaving by plane and can take us over to Hoyt's island if we are quick. This means that I have to get to the plane in under five minutes. I do this and find Willis under attack by pirates. I save him and we find the plane damaged. I now have  to protect Willis while he fixes the plane as what seems like a horde of pirates attacks. Once done Willis urges us to get in and tells us to go to a bar on the other island and whistle the star spangled banner, this is a signal to his CIA friend on the island. Willis lets us drop from the plane onto the island.

Main Mission Twenty-Five
On the new island I must take out some pirates and steal their truck. I am now to drive it to a large settlement. Here I find the soldier types guarding the place. They are not hostile so far. I enter the town and find the bar called the Crazy Cock. This is where I am to meet Willis' friend. In the bar I join a poker game. I actually can play poker here. Though not for long. Jason whistles and Sam gets up and leaves the game. I follow.Out in the alley he pulls a gun and asks who we are working for. Jason tells him that it is Willis and he is amenable. Sam takes us into his house and we talk about taking down Hoyt. He suggest that we infiltrate his organization and destabilize it. We must go to a new recruit area and obtain a uniform. I have to sneak down through a long winding set of tunnels to the bottom, where I take a swim and find a large boat in a cave. Finally I am allowed too kill a recruit for the uniform and then go and get scanned in. I do this and then join the new recruits for a talk from Hoyt. The talk includes Hoyt setting a man who has wronged him alight.  One of Hoyts men in part of a group who are stealing from him. He asks us to join in.

Main Mission Twenty-Six
Sam thinks we can use the thieves to get on Hoyts good side. We are to try and find a list of their names held by the leader. Then then turn them in to Hoyt.
Basically what this means is that I must find three captain enemies in a large temple excavation area and kill them and search their bodies. I don't find the list I am looking for. Sam tells us to meet him at a drug plantation

Main mission Twenty seven
Pirates are attacking Hoyt's drug farm. They have planted bombs, we have to diffuse them. This is basically a mission where you follow Sam around and protect him as he defuses the bombs. Three bombs must be defused. One sees you on top of a roof as enemies surround the other gives you an emplaced gun.

Main Mission Twenty eight
Sam tells us to go to a mining camp and see if we can find more about who the thieves are. I arrive at the camp and am told to approach from the river and try and take pictures of the leaders. I wind my way through this large gorge side camp and see the meeting take place. I snap a picture with my camera. I am then told to stop the truck leaving with the leader in it. I must us a rocket to stop it. This is to be done in a time limit of under a minute. This leads to all hell breaking loose as you break cover. I then have to fight my way to the body of the leader and loot it. This is a long hard fun mission.

Main Mission Twenty nine
Sam tells us that we must take the list and evidence to Hoyt. I meet Sam at the gates of Hoyts HQ a heavily walled and fortified compound. In cut scene we meet Hoyt in an office. Hoyt talks about the thieves and asks if we want into his inner circle. He asks about our hobbies. Jason says hunting is his. Hoyt talks about civilization and contact lenses. Then he blows up a boat full of people that he was keeping hostage.  He tells us to go and interrogate a prisoner that he has downstairs. He tells us that Sam will help. He also tells us he will watch on the video monitor. I can see a trap coming a mile off, why can't Jason.
Down in the basement I find a television playing some of the video taken when Jason was a carefree tourist. Why doesn't this strike him as odd? This obviously shows that Hoyt knows what he looks like. In the cell I find Riley Brody. He recognizes us, Jason starts beating him and asking him questions. Sam manages to make a loop on the camera, though we only have a few seconds. Jason tells Riley that he will get him out, though he is going to have to hurt him now. I then have to QuickTime beat up Riley. Hoyt is happy with our work and he invites us to play poker. Sam discusses his plan to cause chaos and in the aftermath assassinate Hoyt.

Main Mission Thirty
The first objective in Sam's plan is to take out a communications centre.
I go to the camp with a large satellite dish.  Here i must blow the doors to a bunker with C4. This causes a ruckus and I have to kill a small army to get into the bunker. I then have to kill the rest of the army inside the bunker moving from room to room. Then up to the dish to place C4 on it. I now have to defend the C4 until Sam can come and collect me. He lands the helicopter in the base as all hell is letting loose. Sam takes off and I blow the dish.

Main Mission Thirty one
I now have to attack a fuel depot. This is a full on assault with Sam using a jeep with a mounted gun. I have to go to four points in the depot and place C4. Then go to a last where Sam goes inside a building. I have to defend him using the emplaced gun. We then flee the depot and it explodes.

Main Mission Thirty two
I meet Sam at Hoyts compound. We go inside and play poker. Sam plans to kill Hoyt during the game with a knife. However during the game Hoyt plays his hand and kills Sam with a knife instead. Hoyt has known all along and has been toying with us. He makes us play another hand of poker for our life. We end up in a knife fight with Hoyt, which is an annoying QuickTime affair. Once Hoyt is dispatched Jason finds himself in a room full of bodies. We now must get to the airport where Riley is being held in under ten minutes. I manage this and find a large airfield. Here I must fight my way to the room where Riley is being held. Inside I free him and then have to fight some more enemies. We get into a helicopter and Riley flies while we use the emplaced gun. I have to blow up jeeps, enemies and some helicopters to end the mission.

Main Mission Thirty Three
Riley flies the helicopter to Earnhardt's mansion. When I get there the mansion is on fire. I find Earnhardt dying, he tells us that the Rakyat took our friends to the temple.
I go back to the helicopter and we then arrive at the temple. I run inside and a cut scene starts in the courtyard. Citra welcomes us and congratulates us on our victory. She blows dust in our face, which is obviously drugged. Jason wakes to find Citra handcuffing him. Citra tells us that we must be cleansed and then we can be with her. She leaves Jason and he frees himself. I then walk along a flaming path, lined with warriors who bow as we pass. I hear Lisa talking about us as if we are insane. Citra tells us that we should stay with her and forget our old life. At the end of the walk, Citra gives us the Rakyat blade. We are given a choice, kill Lisa or save her. I choose to save my friends. Citra begs us to reconsider. Dennis comes forward angrily to kill us for rejecting Citra's love. He tried to stab us but Citra gets in between us and he stabs her by mistake. Citra dies in Jason's arms. Dennis cries over her body. The credits roll.

Tomb Raider Notes

I start a new game on normal.

Mission 1
A young Lara is on a boat, seeking adventure, post graduation.
Later, at night, the boat lurches tipping her out of bed. She stumbles out into the corridor to find the boat is taking on water. Lara finds herself submerged and can't get a door open. She passes out and is saved by a man. She is helped to her feat and we see that the boat has been ripped in half. Lara is beckoned to by a man on the other half. She runs and jumps and is caught, but then let slip into the ocean. She makes it to a beach. She can see some of the survivor and her friend in the distance talking. Lara calls to them, however she is knocked out by someone else.
Lara wakes being dragged along the ground. She is then strung up upside down by her heels. She passes out again. Waking to find herself alone and strung up in the larder it seems. I have to escape. I can swing the bundle around. There is another bundle which I push into some candles nearby, this sets a fire. A wooden spur nearby is caught in the fire. I can then swing the rope attached to my foot into the fire. This sets light to the bindings and Lara falls a good height onto a spike. This impales her right through. Obviously there are no medical staff at Crystal Dynamics to advise that this would have perforated her bowel and likely one of her kidneys. If she didn't bleed to death there and then she would die of associated infection within 48 hours. Lara pulls the spike out, which is even worse for her chances  of bleeding out.
I get control and walk along the tunnel. One of Lara's friends is dead and strung up further along the corridor. I find a torch that I can pick up. An obstacle further along the corridor can be set light to get past. I move through a narrow gap into a room with no exit. I am told to press Left bumper to examine the environment. I see here that there is a way to relight my torch and set fire to a sail which will then chain to the barrier and blow it up with a red barrel set into the barrier. I do this and move on.
As I crawl through a gap and raggedly caveman type grabs Lara's foot. I have to wiggle the left stick to escape him.  The roof collapses a little sealing Lara away from the bad guy for now.
I come through a flooded tunnel to a large room. It is a puzzle room. I have to blow up some barrels that are blocking the exit. There are some cage like contraptions. I light my torch again. I burn two ropes holding a cage in place. This lets a blockage down into the river. This scoops up the stuff that is flowing down it. When I stand on the cage again it lifts what is scooped up into the basket above. I can push this basket down a slide. I set fire to the basket contents and slide it down. This blows up the barrier. I then move on down the tunnels. I now have to run as the place is coming down around me. I have to jump at times also. I come to a gap and the caveman is back grabbing. The QuickTime here is incredibly annoying. The caveman is squished and Lara eventually gets out of the cave. She finds herself on a cliff edge overlooking the sea. many wrecks of ships from different time periods can be seen.

Mission 2
Lara moves on down the cliff. I see the lifeboat, it is empty. Lara tells us that they must have went inland. I cross a tree branch over a gap. I hate that sort of thing. I then have to jump a gap. I move into an area and see a crashed bomber plane suspended halfway up a cliff. I a very borrowed Uncharted style I have to climb up the plane across it and onto the other side of thee cliff. I am shown how to double jump up sheer faces. Lara sees a pack and tells us that it is Sam's. She gets some supplies and a radio from it. I move on and jump a gap. I fall despite my best efforts, though this seems to be the plan. I slide down a slope and find I can't get back up. I have to move on and it starts to rain. I am told to find shelter. Lara finds a little cave and rests. She starts a fire and looks at video on her small camcorder. The video shows an Asian girl called Sam using the camera to make a video diary. Lara thinks she is close to a discovery. We see Lara talking to a lead archeologist. They are looking for an island. Lara thinks they are going in the wrong direction. Lara wants them to go into an area called the Dragon's triangle. The captain rules that they should despite the older archeologists protest.

Mission 3
Lara tells us that we need to find something to eat. She is good at talking out loud to us. I move on and see a deer, however there is no way of catching it. I find a dead man in a trap. He had a bow on him. I find some arrows on the ground. I climb up to the body and get the bow from him. I now have to hunt and kill a deer. When I kill it Lara uses an arrow to get meat from it. I must now return to the camp and cook the meat. I gain a skill point which I can spend to upgrade Lara's abilities.

Mission 4
The captain talks to Lara over the radio. He tells her that she can survive. I now have to find a way out of the forest. I head for the shack near where we found the bow. The door is open now. Inside there is a hatch in the floor. I go down into a half submerged tunnel. I emerge in a room with two doors. Both are locked. I can burn my way through into one room. Here I find a primitive tool called  a pry axe. I can now open both doors. I move through more tunnel and then come to a ladder up into another bunker. I come out of the bunker into the forest again. I find Sam at a fire talking to a man. He introduces himself as Matthias. He says that he is a teacher. He is limping and using a makeshift crutch. He does not look like he came from the boat. Lara listens to Sam tell Matthias about the Sun Queen. She falls asleep. She wakes later and finds that Sam and Matthias are gone. Lara goes looking for them and gets caught in a trap. I have to kill three dogs which appear. Another cut scene shows the crew of the boat meeting up with Lara. She tells them about Sam and Matthias and they go looking for them. Lara is left with her professor friend, his name is Whitman. I get control and am told to go looking for Whitman.

Mission 5
A bag is hanging near where I start, I have to set it alight, a brazier can be used to light my torch. When I burn the bag I get a crate of salvage, which can be used to upgrade weapons. I move onwards and Find that Whitman has found a temple. There are two cogs needed to open the doors of the temple. The handle is missing and we need to find something which can open the doors. I can now spend my salvage points like money in the camp fire menu to upgrade the axe. I do this and then go back to the door. I can now open it. On the other side of the gate is not a temple, but a path. I follow Whitman up the path and we find a statue of Himlico, the Sun Queen. It seems that the freshly lit candles and recent paintings on rocks and doors suggest that she is actively being worshipped on the island by the natives. A man appears behind them as they talk. He tells them that their friends have been hurt. Lara is dubious. A man appears above them with a bow aimed at them. Whitman is told to hand over the gun. He appears to be about to obey when Lara takes aim with her bow. A man grabs Lara from behind and overpowers her. These men appear to be Russian and not very pleasant. Lara and Whitman are taken to a camp where others from their boat held at gunpoint. One of the men caresses Lara in an intimate fashion. One of the boat men runs and is shot. The rest flee and the Russians give chase. Lara is knocked to the ground and told to stay there. The Russians can be seen rushing off shooting at the escaping men. I can now move and have to make my way avoiding being seen by the Russians. They have torches and it becomes a kind of stealth game. Lara can hide behind walls. The QuickTime in this game really is annoying. Lara is seen by the Russian leader. He grabs her, I have to press Y in time or he chokes her. It is bloody annoying, a stupid, stupid game play decision. I eventually kill him. Lara knees him in the genitals and then bites his ear. He drops his gun. We have a button mashing struggle and she shoots him in the head. I get his gun, but it is empty.

Mission 6
A temple is up ahead, the Russians behind. There is no option but to move on. I move on and find some more Russians. A dead man has some bullets clips. I get them and can now shoot the Russians. I head into a temple which is on fire. I have to press Y to kick out a barred Window and come out onto a ledge. I follow it along jumping gaps. I fight some more men, using the bow this time to keep it silent. I then have to climb up a rope ladder up a cliff. I find a large area of temple like building ruins. There are enemies wandering around at random. I fight them then explore and pick up salvage and other collectibles. I find a cave behind a waterfall which has a bag of salvage, I can't find a way to light it through as going through the waterfall puts out the torch. I move into a larger ruined temple and I am told how to sneak up behind enemies press Y then mash X too stealth kill them. I then have to fight a group of them. They use fire arrows and firebombs. I can shoot lanterns down to cause fires. I come to a zip line and use it. I find the Captain, being attacked by Wolves. His leg is badly injured. He tells us that wolves got his pack with food  and equipment. We have to get it back, he passes out anyway leaving us on our own.

Mission 7
I find myself in a new area. A village, I explore and find some salvage and light a fire or two. There is a crashed plane, leading up the side of a cliff. This is the way the mission marker is sending me. I climb up using the plane, which falls after I jump from it. I then enter the wolves caves. I then have to QuickTime fight the wolf after getting the pack back. Now I must return to the captain with the first aid. I find him still alive and start patching him up. He wakes, his name is Rolf it seems. He wants us to take the transmitter from the pack up to the top of a radio tower to improve chances of a distress signal being heard. He gives us a pickaxe type tool from the pack. This allows us to climb certain types of rock face. I can now climb to areas of the map that were inaccessible before. I find an optional tomb. It is a small area with a puzzle. The usual burning of ballast is done to make my way to the top of the area. I find some treasure at the top. A zip line takes me back out. I now have to climb up the cliff face which includes a waterfall. halfway up three enemies need to be taken out. As I reach the top a wooden bridge structure collapses making the only way possible upwards. I then find some enemies to fight before coming to a camp.

Mission 8
Lara looks at some of the video on her camera. It shows footage Sam has taken of the crew. We learn more about the characters seen so far. I move on to an area with a large open courtyard. There is a spotlight moving around. There are guards in the courtyard. The objectives are to sneak around stealth killing the guards and get into the bunker. I then make my way up to a tower and zip line further into the bunker compound. Inside I find some lanterns that I can throw, causing fires. I move through some ducts into an area, an enemy sees me and starts flooding the room I'm in with gas. I make my escape through the duct. I can then throw a lantern into that room  which causes an explosion. I can now move on. I find a machine gun and get to shoot the guy who was trying to gas me. I then move into a room and am ambushed by a group of about ten enemies. The machine gun makes it easier work. I find the control room of the radio tower and find that it is long broken down. I speak on the radio to the others and find that I must patch my signal in using an access panel on the mast itself. I have to climb the actual radio tower. I move outside the bunker via a cramped pipe filled area and then come out onto the mountainside.

Mission 9
I find a camp, or fast travel/shop. Then move across a bridge, an enemy jumps out for a QuickTime fight. I then have a very gunplay heavy section through more bunkers. A boss type shield enemy appears here. I then climb the bunker to the tower bottom and another base camp. Climbing up the tower is much easier than I thought it would be. Although it is vertigo inducing. At the top Lara has to tune the radio, which is done by twirling the left stick. Once done a distress signal is sent and received. We now need to set up a signal which can be seen by the plane which is heading to our signal source. I zip line back down the tower. I move into an old Japanese ruined hangar area. Lara upgrades herself to be able to light a torch using a tool she picks up in the hangar. There are fuel tanks nearby, I open a valve and set light to the fuel. This causes the tanks to blow. The plane can be seen heading our way. Out of nowhere in the clear skies a storm appears and lightning strikes the plane, causing it to crash, and crash into Lara. There is a sequence where she slides down the hill being chased by falling wreckage. The pilot can be seen parachuting in, Lara wants to go and see if he is alright. I jump across some rickety buildings and eventually get to the pilot, just to see him being killed by one of the enemies. A shield guy and I then have to take him on. I move on and find another camp.

Mission 10
I move through a tunnel, our new tool allows Lara to light a torch whenever she is in a dark area automatically. I come to a ledge and Lara is caught in a trap which snags her ankle and drags her upside down. Men charge and I have to kill them. Then shoot at a pulley to get down. Lara takes cover in cut scene behind a crate and picks up a rope. Using arrows with rope tied to them a new mechanic is introduced. Arrows that have a rope attached can be shot into specific points and then pulled on. This is used to knock over a tower and kill the men inside. I then climb up and find a bridge that is out. I use the rope arrow to make a climbing rope across the gap. I enter a door using the rope arrows to pull it open. Lara slides down a slope and I am into a new area. Lara meets up with Roth again. He wants us to meet up with our own group of survivors, however Lara sees that another pilot from the crash has survived, she wants to go and help him. Roth tells her to look after herself first. She feels guilty and disobeys him to go after the pilot.
This is a massive map area, much bigger than most so far. I move around by making new zip lines and rope climbs. A few enemies need to be taken out along the way. I find an optional tomb. Inside is a temple with a heavy wind blowing through it. There are pulleys and a lift. If I use shutters to close off the wind I can then use another pulley to lift up the lift slightly. This allows me to climb on a box and jump onto the lift. When the shutters get blown open by the wind on a timer this then blows me up to a ledge that is too high to reach otherwise. I can now take the treasure and leave.
I negotiate the terrain heading for a blue flare. A rope bridge collapses as we go and I have to QuickTime grab the wall. The pilot is not at the flare. I move on through a cave filled with ancient wall carvings. Lara comes to a bridge, the pilot can be seen slumped at the other side. There is a large temple behind him. As Lara crosses the bridge a cut scene starts. The pilot is badly hurt, nearly dead, and most of all being used as bait. barrels are thrown down onto the bridge and then blown up. Lara runs but is thrown by the blast. Matthias appears and tells his men to kill Lara. Suddenly there are ancient Japanese soldiers all over the place and a huge terracotta warrior. The scavengers are all murdered brutally.

Mission 11
Lara wakes again tied to a hook in the ceiling. The room is filled with skinned corpses. I swing and free Lara. There is only one way out of the room a small crack in the wall. As Lara leaves the large armored monsters comes in to check. Lara moves along a tunnel filled with gore and then slides down a slope to a tunnel filled with more ancient strung up corpses. I grab a trench shotgun from a dead Japanese soldier. The trench shotgun can be used to clear small wooden barriers. Lara finds a tomb, it is the tomb of the Sun Queen. As she does more of the scavengers burst in and attack. I swing a bell in the room using the rope arrow to open a door by hitting it with the bell. I come to a ledge with fierce winds and climb along it. The wooden structure is disintegrating in the wind. I climb into a room and am attacked by some scavengers. I have to open a door in the floor of this room. There are bells suspended high above. Bringing them down on the door will open it. I climb up and find more wind shutters. One at either side of the room. If I open them and then use a rope arrow to pull a bell back the wind and the swing will send the bell hard against the pillars of the room. I have to aim and swing at both pillars. Then open both shutters and aim at the bell itself. This brings the bell down and makes an escape route. Lara falls down and meets the guardian again, it is smashing scavengers around like ping pong balls. Lara flees along a disintegrating walkway and then falls down a shaft into water. I move onwards and out into the mountainside again. Sam's voice comes over the radio. She has been kidnapped, likely by Matthias. It seems that making sacrifices to the Sun Queen may be the key. Matthias clearly plans to set Sam alight in some ritual in an attempt to get off the island. I now have to head down to the heart of Matthias's lair to rescue Sam. I make my way down and fight through some enemies. I come to a fast flowing river. As I cross the river Lara is swept away. I have to dodge spikes in the river and shoot out some wooden barricades. Lara lands in a bomber and has to grab a parachute before she falls through the glass. I then have to avoid trees as she descends the mountain fast. Lara is hurt in the fall and now cannot jump.

Mission 12
I have to make my way through a scavenger settlement and get to a helicopter. I have to fight my way there. In the helicopter Lara finds a lighter and uses it to heat an arrow and cauterize her wounds. I now have to take on the settlement after they find me. Fire arrows and exploding barrels help a lot here. I explore the shanty town and another wave of enemies are thrown at me. I have to use the flame arrows to burn a cloth and wood blockage in a gate and then get through it. I come to a sewer like area, then a tunnel. On the other side I find one of the ship's crew, named Grim, he tells me to come to a ladder. When I do an ambush starts. Wave after wave of enemies pour into the area. Once I have killed them all Grim tells us that he knows where the rest of the crew are being held. I can't get up to him and have to find another way up the tower he is on. There is a cargo lifting system, I will have to find my way up it. I follow the fairly well marked path to a pulley system that leads to the tower. There are enemies to fight on the way. At the top Grim is chased by enemies and vanishes. I have to fight a huge group of enemies. When done a cut scene shows one of them bringing Grim out with his hands tied and a machete to his throat. The scavenger tells Lara to drop her weapons over the  edge. Grim tells her not to and head butts the man. He takes on the group single handed with his hands tied and vanishes over the edge of the tower with one of them in tow. It looks like he can't survive the fall, though I wouldn't place a bet against him turning up later. Lara swears to avenge him. The only way forward is along a rope. As Lara moves along it two enemies appear at the anchor point. They cut it and Lara falls to the cliff and I have to grab on with the axe. Lara is about to be shot with an arrow as she climbs up when Roff uses a sniper rifle to take out the two men. Lara tells Roff what happened to Grim. He will cover her with the sniper rifle as she heads closer to the temple.

Mission 13
A bridge stands between us and the temple. There are lots of guards on top, Roff suggests climbing along the underside. I make my way to the bridge, I move along the clamber path, Roff shoots at the men as they move to intercept Lara. I am told to stop and move by Roff as needed. At one point Lara gets up on the bridge and is grabbed, Roff snipes the man as he does. Lara falls and grabs onto a part of the bridge. I then have to run headlong as the bridge starts collapsing. I make it to a cave on the side of the mountain and enter a tunnel. I find a large gathering of the scavengers, who their leader Matthias calls the Solarii. The children of the sun Queen. He believes that sacrificing Sam will release the sun queen from imprisonment and free them from the island. He makes a signal for a guard to set fire to the pyre under Sam. Lara has to act, she shoots the man with an arrow before he can do so. This causes her to be caught in cut scene, beaten and dragged in front of Matthias. Matthias leers then sets fire to the pyre himself. A gust of wind blows out the fire. Matthias takes this as a signal that Sam is not to be hurt. He tells the men to take her to the throne room and tell other men to kill Lara. Lara is taken to a ledge, she tries to fight, but knows she will lose, she jumps off the ledge on her own rather than be shot first. The men don't know if she has survived. She has and had landed in a lake which seems to be filled with blood and bones. I am guessing the guardian is about to turn up again.

Mission 14
I am left without guns, only my bow. A man is tossed into a room and attacked by what appear to be savages. I enter the room and am left in peace. A gas vent near the door can have it's top screwed off then set fire to open the door. I then have to stealth attack a group of enemies. A vent can be opened and set fire to here to make a crate slide down a hill and make the way forward open up. I move on and find a few areas where I can use the gas vents to wait until the enemies are close and blow them all up at once. I have to use a pulley and gas vent to blow open a door. the gas finally seems to ignite all over the place and I have to run through an explosion filled action corridor to escape the explosions. I come out at a cage filled with the crew and some guards. Lara speaks to the crew once the guards are taken out. I have to find a way to get them out of the cage. There is a vent which when blown knocks a way to get on top of the cage free. From There I can shoot two more vents to swing a pulley that shakes more of the cage free. I then open two vents and use this to send the cage over to a safe place. Lara is left on the other side of the room.

Mission 15
I make my way out of the room using clamber points. The geothermal gases are acting up again and I make my into the temple area, which is on fire. I make my way to the throne room, through a large sequence of burning exploding clambering, fighting and zip lining. I meet Whitman, the senior archeologist, he appears to be free, is he in league with the Solarii. Lara goes on and finds Matthias, Sam and a guard in the temple. Matthias tells Sam that she is chosen and has the power to free everyone from the island. Another guard tells Matthias that the fires are getting worse and that Lara has escaped. He leaves Sam with one guard. Lara shoots him with an arrow and speaks to Sam. Lara and Sam try and leave. Whitman appears and tells them to run, Matthias appears behind him. Guards start to pour into the throne room. Sam rushes into a doorway and escapes the throne room, Lara is left to fight the enemies. I clear the waves then escape the throne room. Outside I have to run through corridors filled with enemies fighting all the way. I come to a courtyard and a man with an emplaced gun starts chewing up the scenery with it. I have to run from cover to cover and get close to him and zip line in to attack. He knocks Lara over back into the courtyard and is about to shoot her when Lara sees a grenade launcher. I get a second or two to hit him with it. I now have the grenade launcher and I can blow open metal gates with it. I fight some more enemies, massacre is more the word, the grenade launcher is fun. I move through a building and blow open the metal grate at the end. I then find Sam being chased by enemies. She has an advantage, they don't want to kill her.

Mission 16
I have to meet up with Sam. I zip line down towards her and straight into a fight. This is a big fight, with many waves of enemies. I am pinned by an emplaced gun and have to get close enough by clambering to fire a grenade into the nest. Lara meets up with Sam, she tells her to head for the helicopter, but not to get on it. I can see a helicopter coming in the distance. Lara seems to think it will not be allowed to leave the island. I climb out of the Solarii compound. As I leave Matthias can be seen standing beside a cannon, he tells his men to destroy the bridges. He fires on his own men and nearly hits Lara. I have to run and jump as the bridge falls around me. Roff can be heard saying that the helicopter is taking fire and needs to head for higher ground. Lara tells him to beware of the storms.  I have to climb the tower I am in. This is a long clamber, though a fun and frantic one. When I reach the top I have to jump for the helicopter. The helicopter is not in a good way, the storms are raging. Lara forces the pilot at gunpoint to land, he tries. The helicopter is struck by lightning and crashes. Roff does CPR on Lara and resuscitates her. As he is dragging her away from the burning wreckage, Solarii attack. He is hit with an axe in the back. He tells Lara she can do this, she is a Croft. The rest of he crew arrive. They set a pyre and burn Roff's body. One of the crew wants to fix up a boat and try and leave. Lara tells them that the storms will stop them leaving. The storms are related to the Sun Queen, she wants to find a way to stop the storms. Lara thinks that she can find the ritual chamber and turn off the storms.

Mission 17
I have to regroup with the crew, This is a big forest area, there are many enemies. It can be done stealthily or all guns blazing. There are dogs that attack here also.
I enter a cave system and have to negotiate a timed pulley swing puzzle. I then moves through some more caves and then zip line down into the forest. I talk to the others on the radio. I come to a massive shanty area, though I can't explore much of it due to there not being a way to make the jumps across. There is some sort of cable car system for transporting goods and people up the mountain. I jump onto it and am taken down halfway. The ride grinds to a halt. I make my way to a boat which is held up by cranes, it looks like they have been stripping it for parts to build the shanty town. I am attacked by many enemies as I land on the boat. At the end of the waves of enemies an emplaced gun is used to sever the cables holding the boat up. I then have a clamber and QuickTime like section to fall and scramble all the way down to the bottom of the world it seems. I meet the gang on the beach. They are trying to get the small boat seaworthy. Something needs lifted and it is too heavy. Lara needs to get a block and tackle, whatever that is. I now have to search the beach for this item. I move as directed to an old ship. I have to clamber around it until reaching the deck. Then I have to shoot at the anchor and get the item in Question. I take it back to the others. Whitman appears, Lara is suspicious of him. Jonah gives Lara a new more powerful bow.

Mission 18
The compound bow can now be used  to fire rope arrows into craggy rocks, which opens up more areas. I climb up the hillside and find a hidden tomb. This one is part of the Japanese wartime occupation of the island. The power is still on and water is electrified in the area. The puzzle here is how to keep an electrified object from being in the water. A raft can be freed and then pulled around with rope arrows. If you pull the raft near the electric object, you can raise the object with a pulley and then pull the raft under it keeping it out of the water. The tomb can then be raided and you can get out. I move through a cave and come out onto a beach overlooking the wreck of the endurance. The Scavengers are tearing it apart.
I climb across a gap to clamber into an old Japanese emplaced gun.
I enter this complex and find men using a hoist to strip parts from the ships. I have to fight my way through this building At the top we are looking for Alex, I can't remember who Alex is. I make my way by zip line to the Endurance. On the deck two men and an armored giant are working. The giant has a rope ascender. I have to kill him by shooting at him when his guard is down. He covers his head, the only exposed part and he can't be hurt in that position. I wear his health and then have to QuickTime him to death. I get the rope ascender as a prize. I enter the ship and make my way through it with only minimal enemy killing. I find a puzzle room and Alex. He is the goofy dude with esc on his t-shirt. He has been trying to get the tools on his own. He has ended up with his leg trapped and badly injured. The puzzle to get into him is that the door is barred by an electrically charged wire. I have to use a hook system to free it. The pulley is on rails in the ceiling. I can move it about with the rope ascender and left to right by jumping on ladders to either side of the pulley. I have to move it so I can get up to free some debris from the path, then move it to the electric wire and pull the wires free. As i find Alex we are attacked. He urges Lara to leave him. She realizes the hopelessness of the situation and does so. He shoots an explosive item and the entire end of the ship goes up. Lara has to escape using the rope ascender, which allows us to travel fast back up zip lines.

Mission 19
I head back up to the cliff side base, using the ascender. I have to pull down a heavy item using the ascender which caves in the ceiling of a bunker allowing us inside. I then find a book which tells Lara about a tomb that the expedition found that has the secret of controlling the storms. I make my way back to the gang, which is made easier by being able to get to zip lines that were inaccessible before. Back at the camp Lara imparts the news that Alex is dead. Reyes is negative about anyone being near Lara's chances for survival. Lara tells them that she is going to the research camp to try and find out what the soldiers learned. The rope ascender allows you to open gates and doors that were impassable before.
I head for a lift, when trying to use it it collapses. I can now clamber up the wreckage. I then head up the cliffs on a clamber path. This is a long and as most of it collapses behind you, a one way trip. The Japanese journal mentions the Oni, which may be the giant in ancient armor. I find a large lift shaft. The lift is blocked and the only way to clear it is to take the lift to the top and drop it down on the blockage. I have to move the lift around and work out how to get to four cogs at each corner of it. Once done it drops down the shaft and smashes the way forward. The last cog is hard to work out, you have to blow a piece of the lift shaft out with a shotgun and then stand on the lift as it raises to reach a clamber point on the outer shaft. I move on through the base until I reach a large open chamber. There are ancient statues around the room. On a Dias in the centre an ancient warrior lies dead, it seems he committed suicide. A scroll in the hilt of his sword contains a letter. It seems that the ritual in the past was not done properly. The Sun Queen's soul is trapped in her dead body, which is the cause of the storms. To free her soul the body must be destroyed. Lara is attacked by enemies in the tomb. Once I kill them all I can leave by an alternate exit.

Mission 20
On the way out of the tomb the radio comes to life and informs us that the crew are under attack. I zip line down and find that Whitman has kidnapped Sam and left Reyes and Jonah alone. The Boat is ready, Lara talks Reyes into taking her inland to the ritual chamber. I find a secret tomb. This is a simple little puzzle, a circular stream has a buoy floating in it. I can lift a weight which frees it to take a circle. This buoy moves objects which place clamber poles in position to reach a wall face that you can climb. Timing is everything and you have to use the bow to make the last pole turn the right way.
I go back to the boat and start the next mission.

Mission 21
The boat takes us to the entrance, Lara goes in alone. I move onwards and a cut scene shows Whitman, Matthias and Sam heading for the ritual chamber. Matthias tells Whitman that the storm guard are waiting for the return of their queen. He goes to talk to them. This isn't going to end well for Whitman. Whitman is being used as a distraction, as the two storm guard kill him, Matthias sneaks Sam into the temple behind them. I make my way into the temple. I sneak into the temple and find that there are hundreds of storm guard. I sneak and clamber my way around the room. The large one sees me just as I am about to make it through. I have a run and jump escape sequence. Then fight some of the storm guard. They are revealed to be human after all. I move on into a large open area and have a huge fight with storm guards. I move on once completed and meet the large storm guard. The winds however blows him away before the fight even starts. I doubt this will be the last we see of him. I enter a puzzle room. A Dias in the centre of the room can be opened by a cog to the right. The pendulum cage can be raised and lowered by the left cog. The pendulum must be raised and then trapped in the room by closing the door. The pendulum can then be swung at a weak point on the wall to make a way through. The pendulum must then be swung on to reach the exit.
In this temple area Lara finally realized that the queens are all the same queen. The ritual passes her soul down into a new body. The ritual went wrong and Himlico is trapped in a dead body. She needs Sam to be free.
This is a last chance point. It seems that if you want to go back and find all the items and secrets you must do it now before ending the game.
Matthias has Sam and he can't be talked out of letting Himlico have her body. I now have the mother of all clambers in the middle of the disintegrating temple. In the centre of glowing ball of energy Matthias is performing the ritual. The body in which Himlico is trapped explodes and begins to infuse Sam with energy. Lara tries to shoot an arrow and misses. She has to get close.

Mission 22
I being moving around the temple towards the centre of the ceremony and Sam. I am attacked by soldiers, then storm guard. They are crushed by falling masonry, again the storms are blowing out of control. I move on and fight some more soldiers, then a short bit of clambering. I am met by the large storm guard, I didn't think I would get away without having to fight it. I swings it's club, revealing that it's back is not well armored at all. I have to shoot it in the back until a button prompt appears above it. I then have to QuickTime attack it. Each time this happens two storm guard are spawned in. Eventually it's helmet is knocked off and I can shoot its head. Then a final bout of QuickTime sees it off. I move on and have a QuickTime fight with Matthias, which sees him shot a lot and falling off the cliff edge. Lara moves to help Sam, she is held transfixed by a stream of energy coming from the corpse of Himlico. Lara stabs the corpse which seems to break the spell. Sam is alright, thankfully still herself. Himlico seems to have been banished, the clouds part and sun streams down. Lara heads down to the boat carrying Sam. Jonah and Reyes are waiting they leave the island together. They are picked up and taken to Japan by a cargo ship.
